'The Fall Guy' & 'Night Court' Actress Markie Post Dead At 70

Hollywood A-list actress, Markie Post, popularly known for her role as Teri Michaels, a bail bondswoman in the popular ABC series "The Fall Guy," recently passed away at age 70, and fans are dejected by the news.

Post was an incredible actress who gave everything she could to her acting career and filled her fans with excitement whenever they got to watch her on the big screens. Losing her has been one of the biggest losses in the movie industry in 2021, and supporters worldwide will continue to remember her and the beauty she brought to the entertainment world.

An official statement from the actress' manager, Ellen Lubin Sanitsky, disclosed to Fox News that Post died in the early hours of Sunday, July 8, 2021. She also mentioned that the "Night Court" star had been battling a form of cancer for the past four years, and it contributed to her sudden passing.

Furthermore, Sanitsky expressed her profound gratitude for the actress, who was no doubt a kind hearted and loving person. She said;

"Our pride is in who she was in addition to acting. A person who made elaborate cakes for friends, sewed curtains for first apartments and showed us how to be kind, loving and forgiving in an often harsh world."

Post was born in Palo Alto, California, United States on November 4, 1950, into a family of five. Although many may not know this, but the actress had a popular figure as a father. Her father, Richard Freeman Post, was an American physicist, who was recognized for his work in magnetic mirrors, nuclear fusion, plasma physics, and magnetic levitation. He died at age 96 on April 27, 2015.

Although not much is known about Post's mother, but according to wikipedia, her name was Marylee Armstrong, and she was a poet.

Deadline reported that Post entered showbiz when she landed a job as an associate producer for a game show called "Double Dare." The show's initial host was the now late Canadian-American television personality, Alex Trebek.

Before becoming an actress, Post was fully involved in the gaming business, as she was involved with the production crew for a show called "Split Second," which was nicknamed the Tom Kennedy version.

After this, she was a card dealer for another game show by NBC called "Card Sharks." Over the years, Post was a featured player on several game shows including "The $100,000 Pyramid," "The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour," and "Super Password."

It's unclear if Post gave up gaming completely when she became a full-time actress, but anyone who knew her back in the day, knew that gaming was once of the many ways that she expressed herself to the world, and through it, she was able to do more for herself and others.

After this, she featured in other series, but was limited to one or two episodes in total, until she became a regular act in the series titled "The Fall Guy." In the mid 80s, Post was already a well known actress, and her role in the comedy series "Night Court" solidified her stance in the acting world.

Her final acting role took place in the first four seasons of "Chicago P.D." where she played the character, Barbara Bunny Fletcher.
