Rock’s not dead, folks, and Guns N’ Roses are here to prove it! Late last night, the band took to Twitter to showcase their new music. In a video that technically only plays audio and pictures of Medusa-like figures, the band revealed the first minute of the track. Right off the bat, you can hear a sweet guitar solo. We haven’t heard many of those in a new song for a while now! The song is titled Absurd. It’s set to be the main staple of the Guns N’ Roses ongoing tour!
It Took Really Long To Get Here

Guns N’ Roses have been teasing fans with the idea of new music for years! Ultimately, things have not materialized. It’s not clear why this has been the case. Back in 2019 both Slash and McKagan mentioned that the band was working on a new album. Fast-forward three years, and we’ve gotten one new single. It’s certainly progress, but it’s not exactly what was promised. The band did release a remastered Greatest Hits Album last year. That may have been what the two band members were talking about!
New. Fn. Song.

They Are On Tour

As with many bands, one of the main reasons why they haven’t been able to continue putting out music is that they’ve been on a hiatus for years! Since 2016 Slash, Axl Rose, and McKagan have been “active” members of the band. They’ve chosen to spend more of their time on tour playing their greatest hits and not necessarily putting out new music. The tail end of the summer is a busy one for the band. As they have dates all over the country in August and September, while finishing out in Mexico in early October. Take a break and then proceed to the Australian part of the tour.
New Album or Just New Single?

It’s crazy to think that if and when Guns N’ Roses do release a brand-new album, it will only be the band’s 7th! There are many bottom-tier TV series that have somehow survived more seasons. In any case, the only real way that the band is going to be able to release a full album any time soon is if it’s already been made. That’s not farfetched. Seeing as how they had the whole pandemic year to work on new music! They wouldn’t be able to put as much work into something now because of the tour dates.
Head To A Concert Near You To Hear New Music

Potentially the best way to get access to new music from the band is to head to a concert near you! The audio of the new track absurd that was released on Twitter was taped live at the concert that the band held at Boston’s Fenway Park. There’s a chance that they’ll play new songs for unsuspecting fans on some of their upcoming tour dates. Also, it seems the band members are mostly on the same page at the moment. You never know, though, when trouble in paradise can show up and cause yet another split. If you’re a fan get yourself to an arena soon!
