Jake Gyllenhaal is the latest celebrity in an unsettling number of celebrities who have admitted that taking regular bathes or showers is not high on his list. while promoting his campaign with Prada the actor offered his opinion on bathing regularly. “I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves,” he stated. the Nightcrawler star is only of a handful of celebrities who have admitted that bathing themselves and in some cases, their kids are not a top priority.
Allies For Lyfe!
Dax Shepherd and his wife Kristen Bell recently shared that they only bathe their children when they begin to smell foul. As for themselves, the same thing. They don’t shower or wash down every day either. They too believe that the natural oils of the skin help to keep them clean and regular bathing somewhat hinders those oils from doing their job. Not weirded out yet? Jackie and Kelso, sorry, Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher also admitting to bathing as little as possible. The same deal goes for their children as well.
It’s A Revelation
When pressed further about this decision, Gyllenhaal shared that he has recently found out some cool things about the body and its natural abilities and this is where his decision came from. “I always am baffled that loofahs come from nature. They feel like they’ve been made in a factory but, in fact, it’s just not true. Since I was young, it’s amazed me,” he quipped noting it’s one of the reasons why showering less is possible. Maybe using a loofah is like extra special or something? Ultimately, he chalks it up to “more and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times.”
‘Soles & Holes’ Or ‘Armpits & Crotch’ You Choose
Dax Shepherd seems to have his idea of less bathing more well thought out. So much so, that he was trying to convince his Armchair Expert co-host Monica Padman that she did not need to wash her whole body every day instead just focus on the “soles and holes.” As for Kutcher, he said that his main areas of focus are the “armpits and crotch”. When it comes to the kids, Kutcher admitted they still bathe their kids and keep them clean but he practices a philosophy of “If you can see dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

It’s The Routine’s Fault
Shepherd shared that he and Bell used to bathe their children every day mostly when they were babies. It was apart of a “routine” something that newborns need like milk! But as they got older sometimes, they would fall asleep and didn’t need the bath to calm them down and make them sleepy. That made him and Bell realize that they had no problem being a fan of “waiting for the stink. Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up.” Does anyone else hope that this is not the way Gyllenhaal doesn’t agree with that last part?
