Remember last year when the “Saved By The Bell” made multiple jokes about it during an episode and Selenators across the globe banded together to get it taken out of the show?
No? Well that happened.
In the episode two students were arguing about who the donor was for Selena’s kidney transplant.
“I know for a fact that Selena Gomez’s kidney donor was Justin Bieber’s mom. God, I wish that I had my phone so that I could prove it,” one character says. The other student replies, “Prove what? That you’re an idiot? It was Demi Lovato‘s kidney. They’re best friends, like you and I were.”

In another scene the question, “Does Selena Gomez even have a kidney?” was written on a wall.
While the backlash should have been warning enough for any TV show and TV show writers, it seems “The Good Fight” didn’t get the memo.
You don’t make fun of Selena’s life-saving surgery and get away with it. Also, just DON’T make fun of a serious surgery, it’s that simple.
Earlier this week, The Blast reported on “The Good Fight” making a joke about Selena’s kidney transplant.
During the episode, the conversation of comedy and cancel culture comes up during a scene where a comedy streaming executive (Del) asks another character (Liz) to conduct a sensitivity read on one of his comedians.
A group of characters discuss what is off limits in comedy. Topics such as necrophilia, autism and Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant are discussed.

Selena responded to the episode on Tuesday on Instagram and Twitter.
She wrote, “I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently.”
“I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air,” her message continued. “My fans always have my back. LOVE YOU.”
Selenators across the world shower her support on social media and now a fellow Disney Channel alum is showing their support as well.
Ashley Tisdale recently spoke out about Selena’s kidney transplant being the butt of a joke yet again.
On Wednesday, August 4, the “High School Musical” actress took to her Instagram Story to show Selena some love.
“It’s sad to me that when a celebrity decides to share their story, especially difficulties with their health, writers have decided to turn that into a joke in multiple shows?!” Tisdale wrote. “It takes courage to come out and let people in to what you are personally going through and in turn you’re making that person’s journey into a joke. Maybe go back to school to come up with something clever and actually funny.”
