A Fresh Start

For lack of a better phrase to define the singer's recent action, this will have to do until she comes out with an explanation.

Nelson got rid of all her Instagram uploads and stories, and replaced her profile photo with a red circle. Although she unfollowed her mutuals, she has maintained her 8.2 million followers, who are sad that they have no way of communicating with her directly, but are willing to be patient.

Some fans also shared their concern for the singer on Twitter, but they have all come to a blurry conclusion that the deleted posts on Instagram mark's the singer's fresh start as a musician.

The details of the singer's upcoming song is still a big mystery to everyone, but fans concluded on social media that if she is taking so much time to kick off her solo career, then it must be worth it.

A Big Comeback

Ever since Nelson quit her band, she has been dropping hints about what her solo career might look like once it is fully launched. She consistently shared photos of herself recording in a music studio, and her fans were psyched.

In May 2021, the 30-year-old disclosed that she had officially signed under a German-British record label company known as Polydor, and that fans should expect incredible things from her from then on.

In addition, a few days ago, she went from posting photos of herself to sharing vague clues about her first solo song, and what it might entail. A Spotify page was also launched in her name, and that was enough to keep her fans on their toes waiting for her to finally release the long-awaited sound.

She first noted that it felt very wholesome to be in the studio recording songs and being herself, however, it was obvious to her that many people may misread her reasons for leaving the band. To put a final stitch on that, she said that the main reason why she left, was because she could not deal with the pressure that comes with being in a band.

Additionally, the singer corrected the alarming notion among fans, that suggested she was not okay with being in the spotlight.

"I never said when I put out my statement that I was coming out of the band to never be in the public eye or perform again, or do music," she said to Cosmopolitan.

She went on to say that although the group has achieved great things in the past few years, she felt like it was time for her to focus on herself, be with people she loves, while doing the one thing she loves the most; music.

"There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process," she shared.

In her final remark, Nelson gave a shoutout to her former bandmates, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock for making incredible memories with her for nine years.
