Lisa Marie Presley's Ex-Husband Requests Child Support In Ongoing Divorce

Lisa Marie Presley is still at war with her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, over finances in their ongoing divorce. Now, the musician is asking for monthly child support.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Elvis Presley's daughter is being dragged back to court by her ex-husband claiming she makes plenty of money from her father's estate and should pay a portion to him for child support. In the filing, Lockwood says the two enjoyed a lavish lifestyle while together -- and their children still live that way while they are with Presley.

But, Presley's ex says she should be ponying up a portion of her money every month to support the children while they are with their father -- and live a similar lifestyle.

"Presley has significant income for purposes of a child support calculation, due to continuing and recurring distributions Presley receives from her trust(s) and from the significant assets including her family business. Presley’s father was Elvis Presley, a world-famous entertainer and one of the most successful people in show business history. Presley is Elvis’ sole heir and as such is an owner of Graceland and interests in Elvis’ recordings, songs, merchandise rights, and life story rights," he says in the filing.

In the documents, Lockwood lays out an amount that should be paid based on the yearly income from the Elvis estate. If the amount is $20 million a year -- he says $61,463 a month should go to him. If the amount is $10 million, he is entitled to $30,991 and so on.

Interestingly, Lockwood says the ex-couple lived primarily off of Lisa Marie's Elvis money during their marriage and says neither of them made any money on their own. "In fact, both Presley and Lockwood earned very minimal income throughout their marriage, however as set forth in Lockwood’s declaration, the Parties lived what can conservatively be considered a very extravagant lifestyle. Their monthly expenses averaged at least $IOO‚OOO per month, and the Parties received funds from Presley’s family business (either directly or by way of payments made on the Parties’ behalf), and distributions from Presley’s trust(s) as well as family gifts, which allowed the Parties’ extravagant lifestyle," the filing reads.

In the documents, Lockwood points out that Graceland is opening back up following the COVID-19 pandemic and Presley continues to receive funds from the family business. The musician points out that Presley's financial situation is good enough, she recently made an offer on a home in Malibu, CA -- which was over $4 million.

As we've reported, this divorce has been NASTY, with brutal allegations flying back and forth. In the filing, Lockwood claims the allegations, in this case, have made it hard for him to get work in the music business. Michael claims Elvis' daughter attempted to alienate him from the couple's 11-year old twins and partially blames her association with the Church of Scientology. 

The decision is in the hands of a judge, and the ex-couple will eventually face off in court over the child support issue.
