Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Recreate First Date For 10-Year Anniversary

One of the best ways for couples to always remind each other of the beautiful love that they share for each other, is to always go back to the beginning. Where it all began is one of the best ways to reconnect as lovers and understand why the relationship began in the first place.

To channel the first time they knew how much they were in love with one another, Reynolds and Lively decided to recreate their first date scene in the most romantic way possible. As fans applaud this duo for their 10th year anniversary, they are also a source of remembrance that love can be a beautiful thing if it's with the right person.

This weekend, the lovers decided to celebrate their 10-year anniversary since they met by visiting the same restaurant where all the magic began a decade ago.

This lovely sushi place place called O Ya, is situated in Boston, and it holds the record for the first place that Reynolds and Lively first went out on a date. Happily, this one date led to many future dates, so it is safe to say that the restaurant is part of the couple's love journey.

Over the weekend, "The Age of Adaline" actress shared an update via her Instagram story that captivated millions of fans world wide.

"10 years later, we still go out on our first date. But in much more comfortable shoes," she wrote. Additionally, she shared a photo of her and Reynolds at the restaurant, noting in the caption that the O Ya sushi restaurant is credited with inspiring their love story. "No joke, no restaurant means more to us," the actress wrote.

Reynolds on the other hand shared a beautiful photo of him and Lively, with the kitchen staff at the restaurant, and they were all smiles.

In July 2021, Reynolds spoke to SmartLess podcast's Jason Bateman about how he met his wife in the "anus of the universe called Green Lantern."

The couple first met on the set of a superhero movie in 2010, where they played each other's love interests. However, about a year later, the pair  went on a double date, and each brought their respective partners at the time. Reynolds noted that though they kept in touch after the date, it was mainly casual.

Suddenly, the duo separately planned a trip to Boston, and agreed to ride together in a train. "I was just begging her to sleep with me," the "Two Guys And A Girls" actor said to the podcast, admitting that he tried to use every trick in the book to try to get Lively for himself.

By late 2011, the lovers had already started dating, and according to Reynolds, he bluntly asked them to buy a house together one day, and she agreed. Now, the couple is going strong ten years later, with three beautiful daughters, James, Inez, and Betty.

In Hollywood, there are many love stories that have happened and come undone. Sometimes, it doesn't matter how hard you love, but who you love hard. About a decade ago, Reynolds and Lively were dating other people whom they thought they would spend the rest of their lives with, but that did not happen.

Today, the lovers have become an inspiration for fans all over the world, who believe that they must be protected at all cost.

Harper's Bazaar disclosed in late July that the "Deadpool" actor likened his wife to an angel with beautiful wings, who floated gently into his life. And from what fans have witnessed in the past decade, Lively is no doubt an angel that has not only showed others the beauty in being in love, but the real definition of a true love story.

Over the years, fans have witnessed Reynolds and Lively's banter sessions on social media, and have event kept scores on their behalf. It is always a fun time for their fanbases when the pair tackle one another online.

The point is the couple have always been about playing games with one another, and although Lively seems to be much better at it now, it all started with Reynolds. The actor explained to Jason Bateman that his first ploy to get his wife to date him involved fake tears and sad puppy eyes.

"I would use a little bit of tear stick so I would get the tears kind of rolling … then I would tell a little sob story about my life," the actor said.

As these games continued, Reynolds noted that 'one moment' in their lives changed a casual dating relationship to a lifelong commitment that he intends to honor for the rest of his life. The moment he asked her to buy a house with him. As a back story, this happened a week after the sad puppy eyes game. Lol!
