Hollywood veteran Jamie Lee Curtis is getting candid about her life since getting sober, including her children and plans for the future.
In a new edition of AARP Magazine, the long-time actress opened up about all facets of her life, and how excited she was to shake the hand of the interviewer.
They were both vaxxed, no need to worry.
Curtis has been on the move all throughout the pandemic working on different projects and her charity work.=
She discussed how her sobriety led her to a reinvention of herself.
In 1998, she describes looking out a window at her vacation home in Idaho. She had a glass of wine in hand and a mouthful of Vicodin. She threw it all back and was waiting for “that lovely opiate hit,” but a Brazilian healer friend approached her and whispered, “You are not Jamie.”
She knew she would be “dead” by now had she continued on with that lifestyle. In 1999 Curtis entered recovery and hasn’t had a drink or drugs since.
Sobriety brought her a community she longed for and a new identity she describes as “just a sober person — flawed, contradictory, broken and redeemed.”

The movie star, children’s book author, and philanthropist has two children with husband and fellow Hollywood A-lister, Christopher Guest.
Curtis shares with AARP that she and Guest “have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby.”
Ruby, who was recently known as Thomas and is 25-years-old, is getting married to her fiancé next year with Curtis officiating.
The proud mother said Ruby’s transition helped her realize that gender isn’t fixed, which is an “old idea” Curtis has since tossed out the window.
The “Freaky Friday” actress has learned that life is a “constant metamorphosis.”
While Curtis and Guest do not have any grandchildren yet, the actress hopes to have a few in the future.
Their other child, a daughter named Annie, is married and works as a dance instructor.
