Dak Prescott and his ex-fiancée are trying to mend things on their own!
The NFL star and his former partner have reportedly postponed their next court appearance to make room for mediation and resolution over their co-parenting relationship following their split.
Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos’ split came five weeks before their proposed Italian wedding, over a year after they got engaged in October 2024.

The footballer had earlier filed a Suit Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship (SAPCR) case in Texas, where they live, to figure out how to co-parent since their split and even scheduled a date for the suit. However, they have mutually decided to postpone the court date to find a way around their issues away from the courtroom.
Ramos’ lawyer, Raymond Rafool, confirmed that the former couple had truly separated in the April 5 filing, stressing that appointing Prescott and Ramos as joint managing conservators would be in the best interest of their two kids.
The NFL player’s lawyer, Levi G. McCathern II, also gave a similar statement, revealing that although the case is yet to be resolved, the former couple has agreed to postpone the first hearing to work out their issues without court intervention. As shared by PEOPLE, McCathern praised Prescott’s parenting skills, adding that he is willing to cooperate with Ramos and develop a seamless co-parenting relationship in the best interest of their children.

Should the former couple fail to come to a comfortable decision for both of them, they will have to attend a hearing set for April 16, according to court records. This means that Prescott and Ramos have until April 16 to provide written proof and documentation about their ability to pay child support.
Away from the drama of the split, Ramos shared a social media update about the festive season, which had her spending time with her daughter. She shared images of Easter baskets on her Instagram stories, raving about the moment as a girl mom.
Ramos’ attorney had emphasized in his statement about how much her kids meant to her, and how she is a mother to Margaret and Aurora first before anything. Prescott had also demanded in his filing that both parties refrain from using any vulgar, profane, or indecent language in their communication.

Ironically, the estranged couple fell out during a joint bachelor and bachelorette party for their April wedding last month. As noted by The Blast, Ramos discovered the NFL footballer had been moving weirdly behind her back by communicating with other women via a fake social media account.
As soon as Ramos found out this during their weekend event at the Bahamas, messages were sent to the guests via email informing them that they would have to cancel the ceremony.
Ramos also took to Instagram to remove the fiancée tag from her bio, as sources shared that she had long been doubtful about her happiness in a marriage where she would have to share him with multiple women. These concerns shaped the footballer’s ex-fiancée’s decision, leading her to choose a life of peace over a state of constant worrying.

Days after their split, friends of the couple noted that their friendship circle is still tight because they would still run into each other at games and functions. However, the split was amicable, and many people in their social circle are choosing to stay neutral amid the chaos.
The Blast shared that an inside source from their friends added that everyone is scared to pick a side because if they eventually get back together, it would be too awkward for anyone who does. Following the end of their romance, a source close to the athlete shared that now that he knows he can not eat his cake and have it, he would channel his energy into football and hopefully clinch the Vince Lombardi trophy alongside his teammates. Prescott was signed to a four-year contract worth $240 million in 2024, and he now believes the breakup was what he needed to sharpen his focus on the field.
