Harvey Weinstein is having a challenging time behind bars and wants the world to know it!
The disgraced film producer poured out his troubles in a recently published interview, detailing the horrors of his time at Rikers Island.
Harvey Weinstein became an inmate at the maximum-security prison in New York six years ago following his fall from grace. Multiple women accused him of sexual harassment or rape, sparking the viral MeToo Movement and eventually leading to his incarceration.
Harvey Weinstein Pleads For Return To State Prison Amid Forced Isolation

Weinstein sat down for a tell-all interview published on March 10, revealing how badly he was living at Rikers Island. He explained that he spent at least 23 hours daily in his cell, claiming the only human contact he had was when he spoke to the guards and nurses.
When asked why he didn't socialize in the federal facility, Weinstein recounted his tales of woe to The Hollywood Reporter. "Because it's Rikers Island and it's hell. It was different when I was in state prison," he explained, recalling all the good times he had in state prison.
"I've been begging to go to state, but the DA's office says, 'Because you have a trial upcoming, you stay at Rikers. We want to keep an eye on you," Weinstein continued. He alleged that he was forced to isolate in the federal prison because it was "too dangerous" outside, adding:
"I'm constantly threatened and derided. I wouldn't last long out there."
Another Inmate Allegedly Attacked The Disgraced Film Producer

On his forced isolation, Weinstein explained that he couldn't join other inmates in the yard because they would drown him in their requests. He claimed they would ask for things like money, his lawyer's contact, or threaten him to do things for them.
Another reason Weinstein avoided other inmates at Rikers Island was for his physical safety, recalling that an inmate once attacked him unprovoked. The alleged incident occurred when Weinstein had asked the man if he was done using the phone.
"He got off and punched me hard in the face. I fell on the floor, bleeding everywhere. I was hurt really badly," Weinstein recalled. He added that he couldn't tell prison officials who had attacked him because the law of the prison jungle states, "you can't be a rat."
The Convicted Sex Offender Doesn't Want To Die In Prison

When asked if he feared the possibility of dying in prison, Weinstein admitted that the thought frequently plagued his mind. "It scares the sh-t out of me. Cold and heartless," he began before lamenting his situation as a fallen star.
According to Weinstein, it was shocking that he was not given leniency despite his achievements in the entertainment industry and the incredible things he had done for society. "Whatever they think I did bad in my life, I didn't get the death penalty. I'm going to be 74 in March. I don't want to die in here," he said.
As for the numerous sexual misconduct and rape allegations he faced, Weinstein remained adamant about his innocence. He confessed that he had unsuccessfully made passes at some of his accusers and could have been pushy or overly seductive. "But did I ever sexually assault a woman? No. I never did that," Weinstein declared.
Judi Dench Sparked Backlash For Pushing For The Academy Award Honoree's Forgiveness

Weinstein's new interview comes months after renowned actress Judi Dench pushed for his forgiveness. The Blast covered the story, reporting in December 2025 that the "Shakespeare in Love" star believed Weinstein had paid for his crimes with his time served.
Although Dench did not specifically ask for Weinstein to be forgiven for his crimes, her words implied that everyone deserved a second chance. She added that she felt empathy for his accusers and noted that forgiveness was a big part of her motto.
Weinstein responded to her kind words through his spokesperson, noting he was grateful while lamenting the time he had spent behind bars. On the other hand, critics were not as welcoming of Dench's stance and argued that she would not be as kind if Weinstein had abused someone close to her.
Amanda Seyfried Faced Criticism For Her Insensitive Reaction To Harvey Weinstein's Crimes

Dench got called out by critics months after Amanda Seyfried faced similar backlash for her reaction to Weinstein's crimes. The Blast reported in July 2025 that Seyfried and Adam Brody had discussed Weinstein during an episode of Variety's "Actors On Actors" series.
The pair both denied having any knowledge of Weinstein's wrongdoings until the allegations became public in 2017. Seyfried recalled being a fan of Weinstein's, noting that she had given him the "biggest hug" when he agreed to attend the premiere of her film "Lovelace."
Seyfried reenacted the hug with Brody, describing Weinstein as "the big papa of the room" in that moment. The lighthearted way she and Brody talked about Weinstein sparked outrage, with one fan labeling their reaction "quite disturbing."
