Lohan Says She ‘Manifested’ Her Hollywood Comeback

Lohan has also been open about how she found her way back into acting after stepping away from the spotlight for several years. During a 2025 interview with ELLE, the actress revealed that her recent return to film projects, including several with Netflix, was something she had been intentionally working toward.

When asked about her transition back into acting, Lohan explained that she had been visualizing the opportunity long before it actually happened. “It was really Netflix. And I was manifesting it,” Lohan said. “During COVID, I was like, ‘I want to work with Netflix.’ I kept writing it in my journal and saying it. And then that’s what happened.”

The actress added that she even mapped out what she hoped her comeback might look like. “I was like, ‘Oh, it’d be nice to do three films with them, and then see where that goes. And then I definitely want to do my first feature back with Disney,” she continued. “So I manifested that.”

During the same interview with ELLE, Lohan revealed that Jamie Lee Curtis offered meaningful advice when she learned the "Mean Girls" star was preparing to become a mother. According to Lohan, one of the biggest lessons Curtis shared was the importance of prioritizing self-care.

“We’re both very family-oriented people. We always talk about that, and one of the other big things [she’s taught me] is to always take care of yourself first,” Lohan explained. “Because without that, how can you do everything for everyone else?”

For Lohan, that mindset has translated into maintaining a steady routine in her daily life. “I love having a routine, and I like schedules,” she continued. “So, my morning routine: Waking up, writing in my journal, sipping my green tea, breakfast with my son. And then Pilates, making sure I go.”

Lohan Says She’d Love To Star In A Dark Comedy Next

Looking ahead, Lohan says she’s eager to explore new types of roles as her acting comeback continues. During her conversation with ELLE, the actress revealed she’d especially love to return to comedy, but not necessarily the romantic-comedy genre she’s recently become known for.

“I would love to find a dark comedy like 'Mean Girls.' That kind of meaty, good, funny movie, a smart comedy,” Lohan explained. “Not a rom-com, just a straightforward funny movie.”

The actress also shared a few dream collaborators she hopes to work with in the future. When asked which filmmakers or actors she’d like to work with next, Lohan didn’t hesitate to name several Hollywood heavyweights. “Maybe Quentin Tarantino,” she said. “Also, I’d love to work with Julianne Moore. I don’t know why I’ve never played her daughter. Maybe now I’d be her younger sister.”

She also mentioned legendary actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as people she’d love to share the screen with, adding that she’d be interested in something with a Sopranos-style vibe. “Maybe something Sopranos-y, since I am Italian,” Lohan added.
