Megan Fox Recalls 'Belligerent' Night At Golden Globes That Led To Sobriety

Megan Fox might be in love with a Rockstar by the name of Machine Gun Kelly ‘MGK’, but that doesn’t mean she is living the hard partying Rockstar lifestyle.

The actress recently opened up about a booze-filled night that led her to get sober.

During an appearance on “WhoWhatWear,” Megan took a trip down fashion memory lane for their "Would You Wear It Now" segment to dish on some of her best and worst looks.

What she was revealed was pretty interesting.

On the night of the 2009 Golden Globe Awards, the “Transformers” actress wore a gorgeous gold embellished globe from Ralph Lauren. Her hair was pulled back with her gold and emerald green dangling earrings on display.

This happened to be her first time attending Golden Globes

“I hate wearing my hair back like this. I cannot believe I allowed this to happen, because I have a huge round forehead so I hate wearing my hair slicked back like that,” she admitted.

“I was sat a table with Blake Lively and all three Jonas brothers,” she said. “At the Golden Globes they always put those giant bottles of Moét Champagne on the tables. I went through multiple glasses of that. Now I don’t drink and this is why. I was belligerent and said a bunch of shit on the red carpet I shouldn’t have said after that.”

She added that she got into a lot of trouble for what she said on the red carpet.

E!’s Guiliana Rancic told Megan she was “one of the hottest women in the business.”

The actress replied, “Because I'm pretty sure I'm a doppelgänger for Alan Alda.”

Megan reportedly then used an offensive term that can refer to either someone who is transgender or a cross-dresser.

"I'm a man," she continued. "I'm so painfully insecure. I'm on the verge of vomiting right now. I'm so horrified that I'm here, and I'm embarrassed. I'm scared."

She has come a long way since then and her sobriety has even rubbed off on those closest to her.

Back in December, MGK credited Megan for helping him get sober.

Around that time, he had checked himself into rehab for substance abuse and thanked Megan for helping him find sobriety. He made the revelation during a conversation with Dave Franco in Interview Magazine.

Machine Gun Kelly revealed that his “drug of choice” used to be Adderall. The singer is doing much better these days and is focused on working on his art, rather than using the vices that he thought would lead to his art.

“Adderall was a huge thing for me for a long time,” Machine Gun Kelly said. “And I went from orally taking it to then snorting it.”
