In February 2026, Kelce and the NFL quarterback, alongside their restaurant partners, were sued by a sneaker company for using the number 1587. The sneaker company accused the team of trademark infringement, noting that its brand has been directly affected by the NFL star.

Kelce and Mahomes Jr. first opened their steakhouse,1587 Prime at Loews Kansas City Hotel, on Mahomes Jr.’s 30th birthday in 2025, combining their numbers to create the establishment’s name.

Meanwhile, the NFL teammates filed a trademark for their eatery in December 2023, right under the bar and restaurant sector, while the sneaker brand registered under the clothing category.
