Jason Alexander, a childhood friend whom Spears was married to for just 55 hours, released a statement on social media addressing the media-publicized narrative surrounding the singer's arrest. He stressed that false information should not be disseminated, as rumors often spread like wildfire.

Alexander also emphasized that with the way the internet had pushed the headlines, which are yet to be confirmed, many are already passing judgment against the popstar.

As shared by The Blast, Spears' first husband explained that if the reports are accurate, the "Toxic" singer had a blood alcohol content below the limit for most states, and in the end, she could be charged with a minor misdemeanor.
