An officer noted in the 911 audio that Spears was swerving from lane to lane and speeding. She was reportedly in a 2026 Black BMW Sedan convertible, where she drove in and out of lanes with little to no regard for traffic rules.

Following her action, the officer requested for the dispatcher send all units to the area, adding in a later audio note that the driver of the car had stepped out of the vehicle to have a conversation.

As reported by Page Six, the authorities also requested a DRE on the scene to help identify an impaired driver, after which an 11-85 was also requested (this is the police code to tow a vehicle).

The singer was reportedly in the same vehicle when she was seen driving recklessly after exiting the Red-O restaurant in California last year.

TMZ reported that Spears was also taken to the hospital during the DUI arrest to draw and test her blood. She was reportedly alone and uninjured when the cops arrested her, and she confessed to people that she even went lower than the .08 legal limit in California for alcohol.

Her manager, Cade Hudson, addressed the arrest in a new statement, describing it as an unfortunate incident that could have been prevented. He added, "Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life."

Perhaps Spears' recent behavior was fueled by the excitement from reportedly selling off rights to some of her hit songs for the same price Justin Bieber flipped his catalog.

As shared by The Blast, the sale happened towards the end of 2025 and was supervised by her manager. Spears was reportedly very content with the sale and has been spending time with her boys, whom she shared with estranged husband, Kevin Federline.

The star's big sale came about four years after she earned freedom from her nearly 15-year conservatorship arrangement under the legal guardian of her father. The actress reconnected with her kids in 2024, to the pleasure of her estranged husband, who affirmed that it was exactly what he wished for.

Since the arrest, Spears' loved ones have been wishing that it would serve as a wake-up call to her, to finally find a way around her behavior. The star is billed to appear in court on the 4th of May 2026, after she was released today, Thursday, around 6:00 am.

As shared by the U.S. Weekly, Spears has displayed troubling behavior since getting released from conservatorship in 2021, both online and offline. She was equally pulled over in 2023 for speeding and drove erratically again last year after hanging out with a friend.

The singer's ex gave a definition to her behavior in his recent memoir, where he expressed worry about her survival. Federline expressed that Spears' behavior reminds him of the 11th hour, and something terrible might happen to the singer if things don't change with her attitude.

He added that his biggest fear in losing Spears would be their sons having to deal with the pieces of losing her.

The singer and her family have not had the best relationship since the end of her conservatorship. As stated by The Blast, she shared some truths about her father and his behavior during the arrangement, including forcing her to work against her will.

Spears was also barred by her father from removing her IUD to have another child and was forced to attend rehab and also consume lithium. The singer then moved to her mother and sister, slamming their passive behavior of not helping her out of the program despite knowing of her woes and struggles.

Spears had spoken about her conservatorship in her memoir “The Woman in Me,” noting that the arrangement stripped her of her womanhood, made her into a child, as she became more of an entity that a person recognized for her talent.
