Love her or hate her, Candace Owens has proven unstoppable in the media landscape.
However, Jeremy Boreing, the co-founder of the Daily Wire who helped launch her career, now admits he has regrets.
In a recent interview, Boreing revealed the private truths Owens once confessed and reflected on her meteoric rise, which he believes was driven by an unrelenting desire for fame.
Jeremy Boreing Reflects On Candace Owens’ Early Career

Boreing, who stepped away from his role at the Daily Wire in March, co-founded the conservative media brand alongside Ben Shapiro.
During his tenure, he helped build the startup into a billion-dollar enterprise, but his memories of Owens are bittersweet.
"I'm not the cause of Candace's talent or fame, but I did play a role," Boreing told the Daily Mail. "I should have been more discerning."
"I think that Candace can be opposed," he added. "I think that she must be opposed, [but] I don't think that she can be defeated."
Since leaving the Daily Wire, Boreing has focused on creative projects like producing "The Pendragon Cycle: Rise Of The Merlin," but has stayed largely out of the spotlight.
Now, he is opening up about his former employee’s career-defining drive and the decisions he regrets.
The Owens Phenomenon Explained
Jeremy Boreing believes Candace Owens’ success stems less from ideology and more from a relentless pursuit of celebrity.
"Fame is the driving, fundamental priority in her life. Once you see it, you can't unsee it," he said.
Owens joined the Daily Wire on March 19, 2021, after gaining recognition at PragerU and Turning Point USA.
Boreing recalls, "Candace has, what in Hollywood, they call "it," and she has the highest quantity of "it" of any person that I've ever encountered."
He added, "In any interaction, she's the star of the room. She's the center of gravity," noting her "complete fearlessness about saying it."
Boreing’s admiration is paired with unease, as he now questions whether her fame-driven motives overshadow any genuine convictions.
Candace Owens’ Drive For Fame
Looking back, Jeremy Boreing realizes Owens’ political evolution was reversible.
"She's really actually just sort of detransitioning," he joked. "She's returning to her first identity."
Her ambition, he claims, was always clear.
"She used to tell [PragerU CEO] Marissa Strite that her goal was to be the most famous woman in the world," Boreing explained. "She said it in a different way to me, but she said essentially the same thing, which is that she wanted to be Oprah."
Boreing argued that Owens uses ideology and controversy strategically, noting, "Candace uses ideology in the same way that she uses conspiracy, or in the same way that she uses slander, and that's for clicks."
According to Boreing, Owens is "post-political, she's openly telling people not to vote. She's saying that she's no longer entrapped by this right-wing divide in the country."
He stressed that her true focus is herself, noting, "She's about something else. And what she's about is Candace Owens."
Shocking Revelations About Candace Owens’ Private Confession
Boreing shared a revealing moment from a discussion about Nick Fuentes and the Groyper movement.
"I could not understand the positions she was talking and her unwillingness to stand up against what were very obviously bad actors starting to emerge in the [right-wing] movement," he said.
He recounted, "One of the conversations in particular was about Nick Fuentes and the Groypers. She called them the YouTube Boys. And she said: I'll never go against the YouTube boys, are you crazy? I don't go against the YouTube boys."
When he asked, '"Candace, what is it that you actually believe?"' she answered, "I believe what the people believe, I'm the voice of the people."
Boreing reflected on her statement, noting, "It's actually one of the most honest things that I think Candace has ever said."
He continued, "She views herself as primarily a famous person. She is going to give the people what they want. And she has an unbelievable instinct, as many incredibly talented people do, to [determine] which way the river is flowing at any given time. She knows where the clicks are."
Owens’ Departure And Boreing’s Regret

Candace Owens left the Daily Wire in March 2024. Jeremy Boreing addressed her departure in a leaked staff speech, claiming she violated contractual obligations.
"I'd been uncomfortable with a lot of what she had said in the months leading up to that, but really, if there was a straw, it was the blood libel," he said, referring to her engagement with users accusing a rabbi "drinking the blood of Christians."
Boreing continued, "A centuries-old trope used by anti-Semites to defame the Jews, from my point of view, that was the point of no return."
Reflecting on her career, Boreing maintains that facts cannot counter Owens’ rhetoric. "Everyone who stands up to her is engaged in an action that's fundamentally about worldview, ideology, morality and truth. And that's not even the game Candace is playing," he said.
He explained that once one understands that Owens' actions are really about gaining fame and attention rather than truth, they can see that simply calling it out won’t stop her.
Boreing stressed that while people can be made to recognize that they are being manipulated and fed lies, he doesn't think Candace Owens can be stopped from pursuing her own agenda.
