Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Reveals Where Her Dramatic Weight Loss Came From

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is giving her fans all the tea!

The media personality's physical transformation did have a shock factor behind it; instead, she is crediting a spontaneous lifestyle change as the oil behind the wheels of her new look.

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard was released on parole in 2023 after she served eight years of a ten-year sentence for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

The reality TV personality hopped on Instagram for a quick bonding session with her fans, where she took them on the journey of how she achieved her weight loss goals without breaking a sweat- literally.

In the clip, Blanchard was spotted stepping on a weighing scale, which showed 108.2 lbs, and then flipped the camera to show off her flawless figure and gorgeous hair.

"Okay, y'all, I'm not gatekeeping. My weight loss came from life circumstances. After being released two years ago, my lifestyle changed a lot - from commissary junk food to home-cooked meals and trying new foods," she wrote in the caption.

The media personality added that she does not follow a workout routine, has not limited her diet, nor has she used a weight loss drug like GLP-1. Blanchard stressed that she was not actively trying to lose weight, but her whole life just changed and adjusted to freedom.

Blanchard's story caught the attention of several Instagram users and followers who commented on the figure on her scale. The media star also clarified that the shape on her stomach is not a belly button, but a scar from the feeding tube.

"Girl, we live in a time where we don't brag about our weight loss unless we are showing a fitness routine. This is very tone deaf and narcissistic," this commenter wrote. Another Instagram user urged the media personality to change her diet and go for more healthy fats.

A third commenter advised the star to pay less attention to people who suggest that she has achieved that weight loss through medications, while another user noted that PPD can cause weight loss.

"You look amazing. You are a true testament to strength and change," as another fan praised her for living a conscious, healthy lifestyle.

Last year, the 34-year-old got candid on her Instagram when she shared a picture of herself wearing her short, natural hair, which was a complete detour from her usual long hair.

She answered a question from a curious fan on the reason behind her regularly wearing wigs in the past, expressing that she came to that decision due to the damage years of bleaching had done to her natural hair.

Blanchard noted that she still feels a bit insecure wearing her short hair out in public, and while she waits for it to grow out, wigs would suffice and give her hair the fresh start it needs.

The star's hair journey has experienced some hurdles right from her childhood, especially an instance where her mother shaved her head as a child under false claims that she had cancer.

While she had a pretty decent year in 2025 during her livestream session, where she appeared intoxicated and even admitted to reaching her limit, she would continue drinking anyway.

The Blast shared that the star's fiancé, Ken Urker, appeared frustrated with her behavior and expressed relief that other people were able to catch it on camera.

Unfortunately, Blanchard's actions may have or may not have caught the attention of authorities, specifically CPS, who paid an unexpected visit to her home.

The 34-year-old marked her second release anniversary since gaining parole after her 2015 release when she pled guilty to second-degree murder.

Her partner later revealed details of the visit, revealing that the caseworkers conducted a full walk-through of the house and interviewed him and Blanchard separately.

They reportedly made sure everything was locked up, and no chemicals were lying around carelessly that could threaten the safety of their one-year-old.

Blanchard and Urker also passed the assessment test in flying colors as he addressed the criticism and speculations that arose around the safety of their daughter. According to him, "As much as you don't want it to be true, Aurora is in a very safe place and is being taken care of."

Blanchard became a mom on December  28, 2024, exactly one year to the date of her prison release. Her partner took to Instagram to share the good news, tagging it as the greatest gift to usher in the year 2025.
