Anderson .Paak's Divorce Gains Momentum After Jeannie Mai Rumors

Anderson .Paak's divorce is taking a new turn after rumors of a budding relationship with Jeannie Mai.

The singer and his estranged wife, Jae Lin, seemingly had their divorce on the back burner, but with the recent relationship rumors, the process may be finalized sooner than later.

Since his separation from his wife of over a decade, Anderson .Paak had sparked several dating rumors, including one with iconic singer Mariah Carey.

Anderson's divorce is now in the spotlight once more as his estranged wife has requested primary physical custody of their sons and spousal support. This comes two years after the musician filed for divorce in January 2024.

According to recent legal documents, Lin has requested full physical primary custody but wants to share legal custody with the singer. It also states that she wants Anderson to be awarded visitation rights along with secondary custody.

On the matter of spousal support, Lin wants her estranged husband to pay spousal support and wants to terminate the court's ability to award him support from her end.

TMZ shares that the mom of two listed their separation date as "TBD" while checking "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce. Notably, in his 2024 filing, Anderson left the separation date as to be determined.

It seems Lin wants to get the divorce process over and done with after leaving it hanging for two years. The estranged lovers seemed unperturbed, leaving the official dissolution of their marriage in the court system to collect dust. 

Now, just after the Silk Sonic vocalist made headlines with whispers of a budding romance with Jeannie Mai, his estranged wife has brought the divorce back off the shelf.

Speculation about Anderson and Mei rose after they were spotted cuddled up at Andy's, looking like a couple. Mei refused to comment on the status of the relationship when she was seen heading into the rapper's jazz speakeasy restaurant and bar about two weeks ago.

When asked, she just smiled and continued walking in, probably from a decision to keep things low-key. Inside the restaurant, the pair appeared to be closely engaged with each other.

Just a few days after Anderson filed for divorce, he was seen on vacation, enjoying the company of a younger woman. The singer was spotted in Mexico having a steamy moment with a Dutch musician later identified as Sterre Marith Tapilatu.

The pair were seen acting lovey-dovey, holding hands as they strolled down the beach and watched the sunset. They also took pictures of each other while rocking their simple beachwear. Anderson was clad in a casual denim outfit, and Tapilatu wore a chic polka-dot beach dress.

The duo appeared to be comfortable in each other's company, raising eyebrows in the media. While the exact timeline of their relationship remains unclear, the age difference is not. The Blast reported an age gap of over a decade between them, with Tapilatu reportedly 24 years old at the time.

The same year Anderson filed for divorce, he was also rumored to be dating iconic singer Mariah Carey. The speculation arose after the pair were seen holding hands in Aspen following dinner together.

Their dinner date also raised many questions in the media, with many wondering whether a romantic relationship between the musicians was in the works.

Carey and Anderson were seen at Catch Steak chatting amid smiles as they enjoyed their meal, and The Blast also reports that besides holding hands, Anderson wrapped his arm around the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer. Ironically, this dinner date took place during the festive season.

The rumors, however, were debunked by eyewitnesses at the steakhouse, who claimed they left separately, and sources close to the musicians confirmed that their relationship was merely professional. The insiders explained that they simply went to grab dinner together after working long hours in the studio on a project.

Fans were surprised by the news of their separation, as Anderson often makes no time to show his love and appreciation for Lin.

Although details of their relationship were kept mostly out of the public eye, the singer often mentioned his then-wife in interviews, thanked her for her support, and even mentioned her in his Grammy acceptance speech.
