Bethenny Frankel has been engaged in a legal battle with her former attorney for nearly a decade!
The "Real Housewives of New York City" alum sued her former legal representative for a 7-figure sum in 2017, accusing him of malpractice.
At the time, Bethenny Frankel blamed her ex-lawyer for failing to draft the necessary documents that would have spared her more than enough heartache in her second divorce. She separated from Jason Hoppy in 2012, two years after tying the knot.
Bethenny Frankel's Former Attorney Calls Her Out In New Court Documents

The legal drama between Frankel and her former attorney, Jamie Schreck, resurfaced after the latter filed new documents against the TV personality. Schreck told the court that Frankel was to blame for their drawn-out battle as she refused to be deposed.
According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Schreck claimed Frankel and her legal team had failed to provide dates for her to be deposed since 2022. He argued that Frankel had "abandoned" the case by "failing to prosecute or do anything on it for nearly four years."
Schreck stressed that she not only refused to provide dates for her deposition but also failed to respond to his offer for settlement. He claimed he had offered to settle their legal dispute for $25,000, a paltry sum considering Frankel had sued Schreck for $2 million.
Inside The Bravo Alum's $2 Million Legal Dispute

The battle between Frankel and Schreck began in 2017 when the entertainer accused her former lawyer of malpractice. She argued that Schreck had failed to draft documents related to her trust properly, which led to problems during her divorce from Hoppy.
Frankel had hired Schreck in 2011 to help her purchase a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 3,751-square-foot property in New York for $4.95 million. She explained that she had used her own finances and took out a mortgage on the condo.
However, problems arose when Schreck did not consult her when drafting the trust, which provided her ex-husband with 50% interest in the home. Hoppy's inclusion in the trust, per Frankel, made the ownership of the home a "heavily litigated" problem during their divorce.
The BStrong Founder's Ex-Lawyer Denied All Allegations Of Wrongdoing

Frankel sued Schreck for a seven-figure sum, arguing that the ownership of her home wouldn't have been an issue if he had drafted the trust agreement properly. The attorney fired back with a strong rebuttal, denying all allegations of wrongdoing.
Schreck noted that when he drafted the trust, Frankel was still married to Hoppy. He claimed that any problems that arose from the trust agreement weren't his fault but the actions of third parties, including Hoppy.
As for Schreck's recent claims of Frankel dragging her feet in their legal dispute, her current legal representatives denied the accusations. Frankel has been vocal about going through an emotionally challenging time during her divorce from Hoppy, describing it as her worst experience yet.
The TV Personality Broke Down While Talking About Her Second Divorce

Last December, The Blast reported that Frankel had gotten emotional while discussing her second divorce. She claimed none of her past traumatic experiences, including her mother's battle with bulimia and alcoholism, were as mortifying as her separation from Hoppy.
"I have seen everything. Nothing compares to what my divorce was for 10 years. Nothing," Frankel declared. "It was so traumatic. It was 10 years of my life. I lost hair. I thought I would never survive it. I didn't want to," she confessed on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast.
Frankel explained that the only thing that got her through the traumatic experience with Hoppy was her daughter, Bryn. She had to keep fighting for her child despite her ex's harassment and abuse, claiming some people had seen Hoppy as the victim because she was more popular than he was.
Bethenny Frankel And Jason Hoppy Separated After Two Years Of Marriage

Frankel and Hoppy tied the knot in March 2010, two months before the Bravo alum was due to welcome their daughter. They said their vows at the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York City and appeared to be head over heels for each other.
Two years later, the cracks in their union became clear when Frankel and Hoppy announced their separation in December 2012. What came next was a years-long battle over their divorce and custody of their daughter, Bryn, which soon turned nasty with stalking allegations.
Hoppy was arrested for allegedly "stalking and harassing" Frankel, leading to a protective order against him. In a 2019 trial, Frankel burst into tears while accusing Hoppy of torturing her, per Nicki Swift. The exes eventually settled their differences and finalized their divorce in 2021.
