It is really game on for Spencer Pratt and Karen Bass in preparation for November!
The reality star-turned-politician is gradually gaining ground in the Los Angeles office race against the incumbent Mayor, and sources straight from Bass's team are confirming it.
Spencer Pratt shared his intention to run for the Mayor of Los Angeles back in January, alongside promises to address homelessness after he was inspired to run when he lost his home to the Palisades Pacific Wildfires.
How Well Is Spencer Pratt's Mayor Race Faring?

An email sent last Thursday by Bass's campaign adviser, Douglas Herman, to endorsers and supporters stated that an internal pollster, Binder Research, confirmed Pratt is making major headway.
According to Herman, Pratt is reportedly in a position to make the November run-off. At the same time, the campaign adviser slammed Nithya Raman, the Los Angeles city council member and progressive, for being nowhere near the NYC Mayor, Zohran Mamdani.
Though Raman entered the race late, Herman noted that he had failed to crack Mamdani's "name awareness, unified base, or favorable appeal" in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the adviser added that Raman remains in a delicate position despite the primary ballots being less than three months away.
The 'The Hills' Alum Made Critical Campaign Promises

In February, the former reality star shared information with the press, revealing his plans for the city, which was ravaged by wildfires last year.
As reported by The Blast, Pratt insisted that everyone in Los Angeles is sick of being affected by homelessness and its people on the street, despite spending billions on addressing the issue.
The TV personality promised that, as Mayor, he would employ the services of expert IRS auditors and investigators to look into everyone behind the theft of taxpayers' money and the increase in homelessness.
In his campaign announcement speech in early January 2026, he described Los Angeles as a fundamentally broken system designed to benefit only people at the top and a clique of friends.
Spencer Pratt Is Not Losing Sleep Over Karen Bass's Presence In The Race

In his campaign speech, the media personality accused those in charge of the city of Los Angeles of letting the community burn right under their watch, especially since it could have been prevented.
When it comes to Bass being her biggest contender for the ticket, Pratt emphasized that he is not worried, as she could even end up in jail for obstruction of justice for altering the Los Angeles Fire Department's after-action report.
As reported by The Los Angeles Times, Bass had wanted key findings about LAFD's actions during the Palisades Fires omitted or presented in a way that would not prompt as many reactions when it was made public.
Bass's office has since denied that any changes were made to the drafts, but Pratt believes these developments will give him an easy ride to the Mayor of Los Angeles' office.
The 42-Year-Old Detailed The Emotional Toll Of The Palisades Wildfires

Pratt reacted to news of the arrest of arsonists responsible for the fire outbreak, which he claimed does not absolve state leaders of responsibility. He claimed that authorities failed to contain the blaze once it broke out, allowing it to ignite and spread into residential areas, destroying property.
The Blast noted that the former reality star insisted that the tragedy of the fire outbreak could have been mitigated if they had intervened much quicker and not "allowed a fire to smolder for a week."
Months after the outbreak, Pratt traveled to Los Angeles to meet with Attorney General Pam Bondi and other federal officials, expressing concern that the government is planning to build low-income housing developments in Palisades without addressing the infrastructure issues.
While his efforts have since earned him the tag of a political activist, the TV star has rejected the title, noting that his family suffered a serious loss during the outbreaks as his home burned down, his father lost his home, and 12 other people also died in the wake.
Spencer Pratt And Heidi Montag Denied Asking For Donations Post Fire-Outbreak

The former reality star's wife disputed circulating reports that neither she nor her husband asked for financial assistance from the fans after their home burned down. Montag claimed she had no expectations of the fans and was content with their financial situation.
Despite Montag's disclaimer, two of their TikTok friends helped them create a GoFundMe account with a $200,000 goal, and the responses were impressive.
The former reality star was beyond pleased by the display of kindness, stressing that the generosity of the general public has helped give their family the strength to carry on after the incident.
