Jamie Lee Curtis Reveals Lace Bra To Support Maggie Gyllenhaal

In the photo, Curtis sits in the backseat of a car wearing aviator-style glasses and a printed cardigan. With one hand, she pulls the fabric slightly aside, revealing a black lace bra underneath. Turns out, the lingerie moment was tied to her goddaughter, Maggie Gyllenhaal.

“My goddaughter @mgyllenhaal has made @thebridemovie an audacious, bold, punk, feminist, opera of a movie and she sent me some lingerie, which is one of the partnerships with @victoriassecret," the actress wrote. "And I wore it today to support my money makers as well as her movie and couldn't figure out how to show her my support so this was the best I could do in a limo driving around New York City. Proud as f-ck of her."

She also connected it to her own work, adding, “It is also very Dorothy Farinelli, which is why I'm in New York, which is to promote the TV show #scarpetta that I'm producing and costarring in with @nicolekidman for @amazonprime @nowscreamingpv.”

In just a couple of hours, the post pulled in more than 61,000 likes and over 1,400 comments.

While Curtis clearly isn’t afraid to make a statement with a selfie, her outspoken nature goes far beyond social media. In fact, last year, she made headlines for comments that sparked an entirely different kind of reaction.

Jamie Lee Curtis understands that using the word “genocide” to describe plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures might not go over well for some, but she’s not backing down. “I’ve been very vocal about the genocide of a generation of women by the cosmeceutical industrial complex,” the actress told The Guardian at the time.

She added, “I’ve used that word for a long time and I use it specifically because it’s a strong word. I believe that we have wiped out a generation or two of natural human (appearance).”

Curtis Put Vulnerability Front And Center

Long before filters dominated social media feeds, the "Freakier Friday" star made waves by putting her own vulnerability front and center. Years ago, she posed for a magazine cover in nothing but her underwear and no makeup, intentionally revealing exactly what she looked like at the time, no retouching, no glam squad illusion.

Speaking to The Guardian, Curtis doubled down on her concerns about the beauty industry’s growing influence. “The concept that you can alter the way you look through chemicals, surgical procedures, fillers, there’s a disfigurement of generations of predominantly women who are altering their appearances,” she said.

She went even further, pointing to technology as fuel for the fire.

The "Halloween" actress added that the trend “is aided and abetted by AI, because now the filter face is what people want.”

“I’m not filtered right now. The minute I lay a filter on and you see the before and after, it’s hard not to go: ‘Oh, well that looks better.’ But what’s better?,” the Oscar-winner continued. “Better is fake. And there are too many examples, I will not name them, but very recently we have had a big onslaught through media, many of those people.”

And if her recent lace-bra selfie proved anything, it’s that Curtis is still choosing to show fans exactly who she is.
