Jillian Michaels is facing intense criticism online after sharing her thoughts about the Jeffrey Epstein files and questioning why more information allegedly connected to Donald Trump didn’t surface during the Biden administration. The fitness personality addressed the topic during a recent episode of her podcast, later posting a clip to social media that quickly gained traction. While Michaels appeared to frame her comments as political skepticism, critics accused her of misunderstanding how federal investigations work, sparking a heated debate across platforms.

During the podcast discussion, Michaels referenced comments from Hillary Clinton and questioned the timeline surrounding the files. “Hillary Clinton says, 'We all know that you're only dragging us into the Epstein situation because Trump is hiding something.' But you've just pointed out the fact that they had control of these files for four years," she said. "Why wouldn't they have used them to go after Trump?"

“Is her argument that it would be a mutually assured destruction?" the fitness trainer asked. "Like, she's claiming they're totally innocent. He says he's totally innocent. At the end of the day, if there was something insane in there on Trump, would they not have released it?"

Michaels later shared a clip of the conversation on X, adding her own commentary. “Why didn’t we hear anything about the Epstein files during the Joe Biden presidency?" she questioned. "Democrats had control of the executive branch for four years. If there was truly anything major about Donald Trump in these files, wouldn't the whole world have heard about it already?”

Social Media Users Push Back On Her Claims

The reaction online was swift, with many critics disputing Michaels’ interpretation of how the investigation unfolded. One user wrote, “Jillian Michaels is not too bright. During this period, Maxwell was being indicted, and a trial was going on using the information as evidence. Now, she doesn't support the SURVIVORS, and we all know why. Her background is not the best.”

Others pointed out that the files were not publicly accessible during the investigation. “Why do people post this garbage, as if the Epstein files were just sitting there in the White House to be read by whoever wanted?” another person commented. “The files have been held securely by the FBI, and politicians did not have access. Simple as that."

Another response echoed similar frustration, writing, “The files were sealed under investigation. Why does everyone just ignore this?”

Justice Department Released Millions Of Pages Earlier This Year

The controversy comes after the Department of Justice released a massive collection of materials in January under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

According to officials, more than 3.5 million responsive pages were published, including over 2,000 videos and approximately 180,000 images. The records were gathered from multiple sources, including federal investigations, criminal cases involving Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, inquiries into Epstein’s death, and related probes conducted by the FBI and the Office of Inspector General.

Investigation Remained Active During Biden Administration

Reporting has also emphasized that the Epstein case remained an active criminal matter throughout much of the Biden presidency. Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown, whose reporting has played a major role in exposing Epstein’s crimes, explained on social media that victims continued coming forward with information to federal authorities during that period.

According to Brown, the situation shifted only after the Department of Justice later reviewed the material and formally closed the case in July.

Amid the ongoing debate surrounding the Epstein files, Donald Trump’s name has also surfaced within some of the materials, with certain references and images reportedly included in the broader document releases. At one point, photos featuring the president were restored to the Department of Justice website after Democratic lawmakers accused prosecutors of attempting to shield him from public scrutiny.

In a December 23 statement, the DOJ acknowledged that some of the newly released records contained allegations connected to Trump but cautioned that not all of the material was credible. The department said portions of the files included “untrue and sensationalist claims” that had been submitted to the FBI prior to the 2020 election.
