Rob Rausch is giving fans exactly what they want, and judging by the reaction online, the reality star knows it. The “Love Island USA” personality recently set social media buzzing after sharing a shirtless mirror selfie that quickly turned into a full-blown "thirst trap" moment. Standing in what appears to be a bathroom, Rausch snapped the photo while showing off his sculpted torso, defined abs, and tattooed arms, pairing the casual sweatpants look with layered silver chains.

Fans didn’t hesitate to make their thoughts known. The comments section quickly filled with fire emojis, heart-eyes, and messages praising his physique, with many calling the snap a "thirst trap" and “insane," while others joked that he was “not allowed” to post something that distracting without warning.

But while fans may know him for reality TV drama and gym selfies, there’s another side to Rob Rausch.

Long before the thirst traps and televised romance, Rausch was wrangling snakes, and not just metaphorically. In past interviews, he’s opened up about growing up catching reptiles, a hobby that started in childhood under one strict condition set by his mom. “My mom had a rule that I could only catch snakes if I knew exactly what species they were, so obviously, I learned all the species,” he told GQ.

That rule didn’t scare him off. If anything, it turned into a passion. And while some people run the other direction at the sight of a snake, Rausch has a clear favorite: the king snake. “I feel like they’re a little more intelligent than other species, which is totally up for scientific debate,” he joked. "But they never bite. Usually.”

Of course, stepping back into the spotlight wasn’t as simple as posting a mirror selfie or wrangling snakes in the backyard. After the dust from "Love Island" finally settled, Rausch found himself at a crossroads. When the opportunity to leave the farm and join "The Traitors" came knocking, it wasn’t an automatic yes. In fact, he turned it down more than once.

Leaving a quieter life behind to reenter the high-pressure world of reality TV took serious consideration. Eventually, producers made a pitch that stuck: it wasn’t just reality television, it was a game. And if there’s one thing Rob Rausch believes about himself, it’s that he’s good at games.

Still, confidence in competition didn’t erase the anxiety. “I had probably the worst anxiety I’ve ever had in my life, especially right before the show went on,” Rausch admitted. “I was so anxious. I talked to a therapist and everything. I just have trauma from that kind of stuff, I just don’t like it. I think that people really like to not like me.”

For someone who admits the spotlight gives him anxiety, there is at least one part of reality TV he genuinely loves, and it has nothing to do with competition. “Do you want to know what my favorite part of reality TV is?” he asked. “It’s when they take your phone away for a month. That is the best f-cking part.”

For Rausch, it’s a break from the noise that often follows him long after the cameras stop rolling.
