Kristin Stewart Trolled Over Bizarre Remark About Not Buying 'Burgers In The Daytime' To Help 'Immigrants'
By Favour Adegoke on February 27, 2026 at 8:15 PM EST

Kristen Stewart is being ridiculed online after she talked about stopping the purchase of burgers in the "daytime" to help protect immigrants from ICE.
The remarks come on the heels of increased anti-ICE protests following the killings of Alex Pretti and Renée Nicole Good in Minnesota.
Kristen Stewart isn't the only star to get roasted online over their comments about ICE, as singer Billie Eilish recently got slammed for saying no one is illegal on "stolen land" at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Kristen Stewart Suggests That Stopping Burger Consumption Can Help Protect 'Immigrants'

Kristen Stewart left many social media users scratching their heads after she made a public plea for people to stop eating burgers to protect illegal immigrants during a recent red carpet interview.
The 35-year-old actress, who looked stunning in a butter yellow bra top with a shaggy mullet, made the comment as she attended an event celebrating Architectural Digest's new edition in West Hollywood, where she was asked to share"What would break [her] heart if it disappeared from Los Angeles?"
"Immigrants," she replied. "I can't stand the idea of the dismantling of the culture that had a hand in making me who I am, which is so meaningless in the face of people's lives being completely unearthed and destroyed."
"This is not who we are. Where I'm from, I don't identify with that right now," the actress added.
It appears the situation has taken a negative toll on Stewart as she explained that she was "dying every day" thinking of ways she can help.
"Do we make movies about this? Do we throw all of our money at it? Do we stop buying burgers in the daytime? What do we do about this?" she continued. "I can't fathom that it's happening until it doesn't happen. Los Angeles doesn't exist without all of us."

Stewart's comment quickly went viral online, particularly on X, where many users wondered what the link between eating burgers and protecting illegal immigrants was.
Someone sarcastically wrote, "Looks like she solved America's problems! Just don't buy burgers and everything will be fine."
"What in the hell does not buying burgers during the day even mean??" one confused user asked, while another stated, "For someone who talked a lot, she really didn't say anything."
Another X user said, "Imagine being a border agent and hearing you have to stand down because the girl from 'Twilight' skipped her afternoon fries."
"Didn't she tell us she was leaving the U.S.? Please head over to Italy to visit the Volturi so we can finally put an end to little Miss Bella Swan!" another person commented.
Billie Eilish Came Under Fire Over Her Anti-ICE Comments

Similar to Stewart, pop star Billie Eilish also received heat after making anti-ICE comments during her appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards held on February 1.
The singer took to the stage to receive her award for Song of the Year, for "Wildflower." While accepting the award, Eilish said, "As grateful as I feel, I honestly don't feel like I need to say anything, but that no one is illegal on stolen land."
"It's just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now. And I just I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter," the singer further remarked, before concluding with, "F-CK ICE."
Eilish's remarks quickly sparked backlash, with some individuals demanding she give up her mansions to Native American tribes or migrant families.
Since her remarks went viral, Eilish has yet to respond to the criticisms.
Kristen Stewart Speaks On Why Came Out In 2017

Meanwhile, Stewart made headlines earlier this month for her sexuality as she explained that the reason why she came out in 2017 is that she didn't want to "live a partial life."
The "Love Lies Bleeding" actress made the revelation during a monologue on "Saturday Night Live" at the time, where she proclaimed she is "so gay, dude," while directly addressing President Donald Trump.
Speaking about the moment in an ABC interview, she said, "It was less about sharing the details of my relationship and more so acknowledging that there are people that don't get full access to being alive because they're hiding."
Stewart continued, "I've experienced perspectives [and] I've had conversations with people I've known, loved, and trusted and still do, who thought, 'Your career would go better if you didn't go outside holding your girlfriend's hand.' And I was like, 'So you want me to live a partial life? And you want me to uphold, perpetuate, and sustain a system that excludes people?' And I just can't do that."
Kristen Stewart Didn't Want To 'Hide From The World'

Stewart's romantic relationship has been the subject of public interest right from the days she was dating her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson.
At the time, Trump made several posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, commenting on their relationship dynamics, but in her recent ABC News interview, she mentioned that it "was really obvious what's going down" when her personal life became a subject of discussion before she came out.
She explained that she "didn't want to commodify those details," but felt like she needed to address it as they were already in the public anyway.
"I didn't want to be part of a comic book. But what I didn't want to do was hide from the world we live in," Stewart said. "I want to define it, I want to make it a more open and accepting place. And so I thought it was necessary for me to— I was already holding my girlfriend's hand in public."
"None of my relationships have felt guarded because I didn't want people to know me. I want people to know me," she said. "I felt like they did, so I didn't really need to fill in the blanks. But at that point it felt like a statement that just might unlock other people's doors."
Stewart began dating Dylan Meyer in 2019, and the couple got married in April last year.
