Robert was found dead in Salt Lake City on Monday, February 23, 2026. Early reports from news outlets share that police officials responded to a call of what might have been an overdose, though the actual cause of death has not been revealed.
The call was made for a 23-year-old male due to a "full "arrest/medical emergency, and police, as well as firemen and paramedics, were also dispatched.
By the time responders got to the scene, Robert was already dead. In Mary's emotional social media announcement post, she also did not state the cause of her only child's death.

The Blast detailed that shortly before his death, he was released from jail with a strict probation order and even required to wear an ankle monitor.
He was instructed to stay off illegal drugs completely and was ordered to have routine tests for substance abuse, mental health, and anger management. Robert was to be on probation for 24 months before his death.
The 23-year-old was charged with felony domestic violence, aggravated assault, and felony domestic violence just weeks ago, from an alleged 2024 incident.
