The model/influencer got candid about her experiences in an emotional essay, particularly her decision not to breastfeed her baby daughter.

Hewitt poured her heart out in a moving piece for Elle, which was published on February 25. In the essay, the media personality opened up about her motherhood experience, sharing the "mini war" she had with her mind and body over breastfeeding.

"I was aware, even before pregnancy, of the quiet shame attached to formula feeding," Hewitt wrote. She explained that breastfeeding was always sold as "the gold standard" to new moms, while formula feeding was framed as "what you turn to if something goes wrong."

Hewitt confessed that "it took some grappling with that shame, and some exploring of the moral hierarchy around breastfeeding" before she could decide what was best for her and her baby. Ultimately, she needed her body to feel like it belonged to her again and chose formula feeding.

Pete Davidson's Girlfriend Reveals Some Of Her Issues Before Pregnancy

Hewitt defended her decision to use formula, stressing that her pregnancy was unplanned and it came many years after "feeling disconnected" from her body. As a model whose body served as her livelihood, she had a "uniquely complex relationship" with her body.

"On top of that—and more recently and relevantly—I lived through years of chronic pain, dismissal, and misunderstanding that was finally diagnosed as stage 4 endometriosis," Hewitt lamented. She revealed that her body had barely recovered from a laparoscopic excision surgery before her pregnancy arrived.

"Pregnancy, in all honesty, completely derailed that. And I really struggled," Hewitt confessed, noting that she had been looking forward to reclaiming her body without pain. She added that she was frequently ill while pregnant and "was deeply uncomfortable"; however, she has no regrets.

The Model's Mental And Physical Health Played A Key Role In Her Decision

After enduring the pain and discomfort of pregnancy alongside childbirth, Hewitt entered postpartum with heavy thoughts about what came next. "When it came time to decide how I would feed my baby, I weighed my mental health, my recovery, and the kind of mother I want to be," she shared.

The "inherent guilt" about choosing not to breastfeed initially took its toll on her, with Hewitt confessing that the guilt did not disappear despite the benefits of formula. Instead, she pushed forward by frequently reminding herself "that being mentally and emotionally okay is not separate from being a good mother."

Hewitt reiterated that she did not want to endure the physical and mental exhaustion that came with breastfeeding, nor did she want to be her daughter's sole source of nutrition. On the other hand, formula feeding allowed her and Davidson to care for their child and did not hinder her postpartum recovery.

As Hewitt noted in her emotional essay, her pregnancy was unplanned, a revelation that first came via a source last year. The Blast covered the story in July 2025, reporting that an insider had spilled the tea about Hewitt and Davidson's growing family.

The source explained that the couple had not planned on starting a family, but they happily welcomed the news of Hewitt's pregnancy. They claimed the pair had grown even closer thanks to the baby, with Davidson allegedly believing that the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

The insider added that Davidson and Hewitt had taken another step in their relationship by moving in together to prepare for their child's arrival. They noted the process was exciting for the pair, particularly Davidson, who always dreamed of becoming a dad.

Last month, The Blast reported that Davidson's and Hewitt's baby fever hadn't dwindled following the arrival of their first child together. Instead, their desire to have children had grown stronger, as they raved about having more kids together.

"We want her to have a friend, for sure. We love the idea of her being a big sister," Davidson said. Hewitt echoed similar sentiments, revealing that she wasn't rushing to have another child, but it was something she considered for a later date.

Before their daughter's arrival in December 2025, The Blast reported that Davidson and Hewitt would not be following the Hollywood trend of giving their kids unique names. Instead, Davidson noted they wanted common names like Mikey, Johnny, or Amy.
