VanZant Says Leaving The UFC Was The Best Move She Ever Made

While VanZant first made her name inside the Octagon, she’s made it clear that walking away from the UFC in 2020 changed everything for her, financially and professionally.

On top of her combat sports ventures, VanZant also launched her own premium content website, a move that significantly boosted her earnings and business independence. VanZant Gives Credit To The UFC

Even with all her success outside the UFC, VanZant is quick to acknowledge where it all started. She’s openly credited the promotion for giving her the platform that turned her into a recognizable name. Her fights inside the Octagon made her a household figure in the MMA world, but she insists the groundwork for her future was laid long before her contract ended.

“I’m fortunate enough, I did build my name up,” VanZant said. “I know how hard I worked in the UFC, and I know how much dedication I had. I did all the appearances nobody else wanted to do. I traveled the world. Every weekend, I was in a different state doing appearances."

Paige VanZant Credits Years Of Hustle For Post-UFC Success

She went on to explain that her success after the UFC wasn’t accidental; it was the result of years of nonstop hustle and intentionally building herself beyond just being a fighter.

She continued, "I was fortunate enough, I did have that grind mentality to build my name up. I did social media, ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ really did what I could to build myself as a business and as a brand. So then, when my contract ended with the UFC, I was able to go out there and be fortunate enough to sign with BKFC. They offered me a great contract. It opened the doors to all these other things that I wasn’t really able to do when I was with the UFC.”

For VanZant, walking away from the UFC wasn’t the end of her story. It was the move that gave her complete control over how the rest of her life would go.
