Pamela Anderson Recalls Being 'Minimised' And 'Exploited' During Her 'Baywatch' Days: 'I Kind Of Gave Up

After five marriages and decades in the spotlight, Pamela Anderson is entering a new chapter defined less by romance and more by reinvention.

The 58-year-old, who has received renewed attention for her recent film roles, stated that she is no longer seeking a new relationship.

Pamela Anderson also revealed she felt exploited and "minimised" during her earlier acting days, especially in shows such as "Baywatch."

Having walked down the aisle five times, Anderson once lived under a constant spotlight, with her love life scrutinized.

These days, however, the 58-year-old star is commanding attention for very different reasons. The former "Baywatch" icon has been steadily reshaping her career, earning praise for her recent work in "The Last Showgirl" and the comedic revival of "The Naked Gun."

With this new chapter unfolding, Anderson says romance is no longer a priority.

In an interview with Another Magazine, she shared that she's embracing solitude and personal growth.

"I just want to unleash the dragon," she said, explaining that she doesn't want distractions as she focuses on herself.

Quoting spiritual teacher Osho, who said that "the capacity to be alone is the capacity to love," she noted that she's finally comfortable in her own space.

"Every once in a while, I'll have a flirtation, or somebody will want to have dinner or talk about the future, and it's titillating. It's like, 'OK, I'm good now for a whole year, thank you,'" Anderson added.

Reflecting on her earlier fame, Anderson has been candid about feeling "minimised" and exploited during her "Playboy" and "Baywatch" years.

"I'm not innocent here. I was complicit, because at some point, especially at the very beginning of my career and my relationships and the things that happened in my personal life, it was just exploitation, and I kind of gave up," the actress recalled.

"I thought, 'Well, this is who I am.' Just being in 'Playboy' and 'Baywatch' and even the people around me at that time, I was being minimised. 'Yeah, you little girl, this is how you do it,'" she added.

Anderson acknowledged that while she participated in that world, she often felt reduced to an image and internalized the criticism directed at her.

Over time, she realized she deserved better. "It took me years to shake that off because I was just going with the flow, thinking, 'OK, I'm doing reality shows, and I'm just trying to keep the lights on," she said.

Anderson's romantic history has long been a matter of public knowledge. She was married to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock, and her former bodyguard, Dan Hayhurst, as well as twice to poker player Rick Salomon.

In her memoir, however, she revealed that Lee, father to her sons Brandon and Dylan, was the only man she truly fell in love with.

That lingering connection resurfaced during a recent appearance on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show.

When asked whether her relationship with Lee might be different if he weren't married to Brittany Furlan, Anderson admitted she believes it would.

She described Lee as "a real romantic," suggesting he's deeply devoted to his wife and likely avoids anything that could create tension. Still, she confessed she wishes their bond were stronger.

"I haven't spoken to him in a long time," she said. "I miss him."

Married from 1995 to 1998, Anderson and Lee remain connected through their sons and will likely reunite at Dylan's wedding this June, possibly in a setting separate from Furlan.

She shared that she tries to stay in touch indirectly, even sending homemade pickles as a friendly gesture, though she hinted her efforts may not have been reciprocated.

"I have to stay out of it," she added carefully. "But I do wish them the best. I hope everything's okay."

Anderson remains hopeful that Lee will ultimately "find his way."

More recently, Anderson was linked to her "The Naked Gun" co-star Liam Neeson after the pair grew close during filming.

Their chemistry sparked speculation during promotional appearances, with affectionate public moments fueling rumors.

Anderson later confirmed they shared a brief romance after production wrapped, describing a quiet week spent together that included dinners, gardening, and time away from the spotlight.

Despite the buzz, the relationship didn't continue. Anderson has since clarified that they are better suited as friends.

She speaks warmly of Neeson's encouragement and support, emphasizing that while the romance was real, their bond now rests on mutual respect.

"I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty," she said. "He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me. I'm sure we will always be in each other's lives."
