The kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, is now feared to be turning into a "cold case."

This concern has arisen as no significant leads have emerged, and a suspect photo has failed to advance the investigation.

Amid the ongoing search, Nancy Guthrie's family has offered a $1 million reward for any information that could lead to the safe recovery of the octogenarian.

More than three weeks after Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona, no significant leads have emerged despite an intense investigation into her disappearance.

Even the image of a potential suspect, obtained from Guthrie's front-door camera, is now plagued with issues.

FBI Director Kash Patel previously stated that the photo was taken on the morning of her disappearance.

However, according to TMZ, sources within the agency claim they do not know the exact date the image was captured, as Guthrie had not paid the regular subscription required for the camera's cloud storage service, which would have provided a time stamp to help clarify the timeline of events.

The agency, due to its wide-ranging investigation, now believes the male suspect could have shown up at the 84-year-old's home as early as January 11, several weeks before her February 1 disappearance.

Given this latest development and the fact that no solid leads have been identified, law enforcement shared with the news outlet that Guthrie's kidnapping is quickly on the verge of becoming a "cold case."

However, the FBI source believes there is still hope, noting that in many kidnapping cases, someone involved in the crime, or someone with knowledge of the abductors, eventually comes forward or slips up by bragging about it.

Local Police Were Accused Of Mishandling Nancy Guthrie's Kidnapping Investigation

Previously, it was reported that part of the reason the investigation into Guthrie's kidnapping has yielded no results is due to alleged mishandling by local police.

They were accused of leaving the crime scene unsecured and failing to properly tape it off or preserve it as a protected investigation.

"It looks unprofessional. It doesn't look good for our department when we've had reporters walking up and essentially contaminating the scene," Aaron Cross, president of the Pima County Deputies Association, told the New York Post.

Also cited as a major misstep was the claim that local police not only relinquished control of the scene too early but also failed to notice a roof-mounted camera during their initial inspection.

The camera was later discovered when the FBI conducted its own documented sweep of Guthrie's home as part of the ongoing investigation.
