Moroz Suspended One Year Under UFC Anti-Doping Policy

The steamy social media moment comes as Ukrainian flyweight Moroz faces a significant setback in her fighting career. Last year, the UFC announced that the 34-year-old had been suspended for one year after testing positive for meldonium, a banned substance classified as a hormone and metabolic modulator under the promotion’s Anti-Doping Policy.
Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), the independent body that administers the UFC’s drug-testing program, obtained out-of-competition samples from Moroz on June 25 and July 16, 2025. Each sample tested positive for the banned substance. However, the organization ruled it as a single anti-doping violation since Moroz had not yet been notified of the initial positive result when she provided the second test.
The suspension has been applied retroactively to July 17, 2025, the day she received notice of her provisional suspension, making her eligible to compete again starting July 17, 2026.

In its official statement, the UFC said Moroz provided medical records showing that a licensed physician had prescribed meldonium to address certain reported health concerns. Still, CSAD identified multiple procedural missteps. Moroz did not disclose to her physician that she was enrolled in the UFC’s drug-testing program, did not verify the medication’s banned status through UFC resources, and failed to request a therapeutic use exemption (TUE), which is required to receive authorization for medically necessary prohibited substances.
Moroz Breaks Her Silence On Suspension

Following news of her one-year suspension, Moroz addressed the situation with a brief but pointed message on Instagram. “Life is full of challenges, but it’s in the hardest moments that we find the strength to smile and keep moving forward.”
While she did not directly reference the anti-doping ruling in her statement, the timing of the post made it clear she was acknowledging the setback.

Moroz has not stepped inside the Octagon since March 2024, when she suffered a split decision loss to Joanne Wood at UFC 299. That defeat marked her third straight loss, following previous setbacks against Karine Silva and Jennifer Maia in 2023 and 2022.
