The custody agreement between Addison Rae's parents is on thin ice.
The media personality's dad, Monty Lopez, has agreed to submit to DNA testing to ascertain the paternity of her little brother, Lucas. This comes up after her mother, Sheri Easterling, filed for divorce and requested sole custody of Lucas and child support.
Addison Rae's parents were first married in 2002 and got divorced years later; however, they then rekindled their spark and got remarried in 2017, which only lasted for a short while as they split again in 2022.
Addison Rae's Parents Have Opened The DNA Test Chapter In Their Custody Battle

Lopez and his estranged wife, Easterling, have reached the next hurdle in their ongoing family dispute. He has agreed to submit a sample to be DNA tested to determine if he is indeed the father of their supposed last child, Lucas.
Easterling has to cover the expenses for the test costs until the outcome is determined, as a Louisiana judge recently signed off on the agreement. Both parties have agreed to have Lopez complete the testing within days after the court order has been issued.
Unlike in most conventional cases, where the father questions paternity, Easterling was the one who filed a petition asking for a DNA test to be done, according to TMZ. Also, in her petition filed late last year, she requested for sole custody and support for her almost 13-year-old.

In addition to the topic of custody and child support, Easterling requested that Lopez have supervised visits with the kids. She claimed that the marriage had been abusive, with Lopez verbally degrading her in the past, citing that he had referred to her as "worthless trash," telling her that "no one f-cking likes her."
In the docs, she stated that these verbal abuses had been on as far back as 2005. She alleged that when she refused to get intimate with him, he grabbed her around the neck, violently pushed her down onto the bed, and squeezed her neck with his hands, yelling, "You stupid fucking b-tch," in her face.
Rae's mom also claimed that the abuse extended to the kids. The paperwork alleged that Lopez had slapped their daughter, Addison, across the face with an open hand for talking back to him when she was a kid, in 2008.
The internet sensation's mother said that in 2018, shortly after their reconciliation, her ex-husband got angry when she turned down his sexual advance. "He told her she was a b-tch for not wanting to have sex with him and that she 'had to, it was her duty.'"

Easterling, in her fight for sole custody of Lucas, brought up Rae's father's recent arrest in 2025 for felony obscenity, as well as claims that he had issues with alcohol and that he had been arrested for driving under the influence multiple times.
He was arrested on July 27, 2025, for an incident that took place on August 31, 2024. As reported by The Blast, Lopez was taken into custody by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office for allegedly:
"exposing his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view, or in any prison or jail, with the intent of arousing sexual desire or which appealed to the prurient interest or was patently offensive."
Added to the felony obscenity charge, Lopez was also slammed with a sex crime charge. He pleaded "not guilty" to "exposing his genitals and pubic hair in a public place", and his bond was listed as $2,500.
Easterling also claimed that Lopez had gotten physical with her during an altercation. He allegedly "beat her on the legs and butt" and another time "beat her with a pillow and held it over her face so she couldn't breathe."

Rae and her mom started hosting a podcast, "Mama Knows Best," in 2020, where they talked a ot about their lives and offered advice to listeners before renaming it as "That Was Fun?" and featuring celebrities.
On an episode of the podcast, the mother-daughter duo talked about their family dynamics at the time. Rae recalled years after her parents first split, when Easterling was a "single mom," and her dad was not really in the picture.
PEOPLE share that before the family got into the social media business and hosting the podcast, Rae's mom worked in a veterinary office and even owned a clothing store called Déjà Vu to help provide for her kids.
Rae began doing TikToks when she was a student at Louisiana State University. The family moved first from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Baton Rouge to save on college room and board costs.
Later, she dropped out of school to pursue a career in social media full-time and moved to Los Angeles. Her parents followed as she wanted them to support her dreams.

The viral clip showed her approaching Trump ringside and saying, "It's nice to meet you," and this started a storm on social media among her fans, with many claiming she supported the politician.
The Blast reported that she declared her stance in a later interview, where she said, "I mean, I don't support Trump. And if someone does, that's their opinion, and I respect everyone's opinion, for each their own."
She further explained that introducing herself to the president does not mean she supports him or his actions; instead, she acknowledged that meeting someone with such status was a rare occasion, and she just grabbed at the opportunity.
