Russell Brand is tackling his ongoing sexual assault debacle with faith.
The disgraced actor, famously known as Katy Perry's ex-husband, has been embroiled in a years-long legal case that saw five women publicly accuse him of scathing crimes.
These alleged victims slammed Russell Brand for sexual assault, rape, and emotional abuse. The accusations stemmed from incidents that happened in the past, dating as far back as 1999.
Russell Brand Confidently Appears In Court To Face Two Additional Charges

The "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" actor appeared in court on Tuesday, February 24, at the Southwark Crown Court in London to enter his pleas to two additional charges. He was accused of rape and sexual assault stemming from incidents that happened nearly two decades ago.
As seen in a video shared by Reuters, Brand confidently stepped out of his vehicle, holding a white fedora-style hat. He placed the hat on his signature voluminous curls, complementing the accessory with an unbuttoned tiger print shirt underneath a black jacket.
Brand hid his eyes behind dark sunglasses and had a cross pendant dangling from his neck. He was also seen holding a Bible with post-it notes stuck in it. When reporters asked how he was feeling ahead of his court appearance, he boldly replied that he was feeling "blessed."
The Disgraced Actor Tried Reading From His Bible Before Pleading Not Guilty

According to The Telegraph, Brand took out his Bible before the hearing and began reading it until a dock officer confiscated the holy book. He reportedly showed some pages to the officer before she took the Bible away until after the proceedings.
When the judge entered the courtroom, Brand reportedly showed his respect by taking off his fedora-style hat and holding it against his chest throughout the hearing. When finally asked to enter his plea for the two additional charges, Brand pleaded not guilty.
The new charges against Brand were leveled against him by two women who accused him of rape and sexual assault stemming from a 2009 incident in London. A hearing will be held next month to decide whether the new allegations will be added to the original sexual assault case.
More About The TV Personality's Fall From Grace

Brand's sexual assault drama first made headlines in 2023 following a joint investigation by U.K newspapers The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 current affairs show Dispatches. The investigation focused on the allegations of five women.
These women detailed their alleged traumatic experiences with Brand between 2006 and 2013, with one of the accusers claiming she was 16 years old at the time of the incident. Two years after these claims, London's Metropolitan Police charged Brand with sexual assault.
Brand was charged with the crime after four women alleged that he sexually assaulted them in England between 1999 and 2005. One of the alleged victims claimed she was raped, while another said she was sexually assaulted and orally raped, per PEOPLE. Brand pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The New Charges First Made Waves In December 2025

The additional rape and sexual assault charges against Brand first made waves in December 2025. The Blast covered the story, reporting that two more women had come forward to accuse Brand of indecent behavior.
Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi confirmed the news, telling reporters that the original four women who accused Brand of sexual assault and the additional two were receiving support from the Metropolitan Police.
Lionel Idan, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the CPS, echoed similar sentiments of support about the new accusers. According to Idan, prosecutors ensured that there was "sufficient evidence to bring these additional charges to court."
Russell Brand Slammed For Joking About Katy Perry's New Romance

The new charges against Brand came days after he sparked backlash for poking fun at his ex-wife's new relationship. The Blast reported that Brand had scored a spot at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix on Thursday, December, 18, 2025.
Brand took the stage to crack jokes and, at one point, called out his former flame, Katy Perry. He started off by referencing their marriage, claiming his love for her hadn't dwindled; however, he did not like her new relationship.
"I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don't put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge," Brand joked. His sense of humor did not impress fans who slammed him on X for daring to think he could be compared to Justin Trudeau.
Russell Brand is scheduled for trial in June 2026.
