Courteney Cox turned heads in New York City after being spotted spending time and reportedly the night with her former on-screen husband.

The “Friends” favorite was seen out in Tribeca with actor Greg Kinnear as stormy weather rolled in, and the sighting quickly fueled curiosity.

However, before rumors spiral, there’s more to the story. The longtime co-stars share a deep friendship that stretches back years, both on and off set.

Courteney Cox was photographed Friday night at a cozy wine bar in Tribeca alongside Kinnear.

The pair appeared relaxed as they dined together while rough weather approached the city.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Cox kept warm in a dark jacket, bracing against the chill. Kinnear also dressed for the cold in a padded coat and baseball cap.

The following day, he was seen rolling a suitcase after staying overnight at the actress’s Manhattan home.

Speculation quickly followed, but Kinnear’s representative clarified the nature of their relationship.

“They are great friends and co-stars,” his team told the outlet, emphasizing that their bond is platonic and long-standing.

The outing may have surprised some fans, but for those familiar with their history, the reunion was far from unusual.

Cox And Kinnear Built A Bond On ‘Shining Vale’

Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear famously portrayed a troubled married couple in the horror-comedy series “Shining Vale,” which aired for two seasons from 2022 to 2023 before its cancellation.

The show followed Pat and Terry, a New York City couple attempting to repair their fractured marriage after infidelity by relocating to a 200-year-old country home. The fresh start, however, came with eerie twists and emotional challenges.

The 61-year-old has openly shared how meaningful the role was to her. In 2022, she said per Variety, “It’s a part that I’m just not used to being able to challenge, and it got me really excited about acting again.”

Kinnear, for his part, once joked that he was glad his own children hadn’t tuned in, admitting that Terry was far from a model husband.

Their on-screen chemistry translated into a genuine friendship that has continued long after the cameras stopped rolling.

Long before “Shining Vale,” Greg Kinnear nearly shared more screen time with Cox during the final season of “Friends” in 2003.

Kinnear guest-starred in an episode titled “The One with Ross’s Grant,” playing Dr. Benjamin Hobart, a Nobel Prize-winning paleontologist and former love interest of Charlie Wheeler, portrayed by Aisha Tyler.

Despite appearing on the iconic sitcom, he didn’t actually get to interact with Cox, who played Monica Geller.

Due to the birth of his daughter at the time, Kinnear had to pre-tape his scenes rather than perform live with the cast.

Reflecting on the experience years later, he admitted that it all came rushing back to him when filming “Shining Vale” on the same Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank where “Friends” had been shot.

That shared history added another layer to their collaboration decades later.

While the overnight stay raised eyebrows, both actors are in committed relationships.

Kinnear has been married to British model Helen Labdon since 1999. The couple shares three daughters, Lily Kathryn, Audrey Mae, and Kate Grace.

Courteney Cox, on the other hand, has been in a relationship with Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid since 2013.

That same year, she finalized her divorce from actor David Arquette, with whom she shares 21-year-old daughter Coco Arquette.

In 2023, David openly admitted that he felt intimidated and inferior to Cox because of her massive fame during their early marriage, telling Andy Cohen that her success on “Friends” was “difficult” for him to handle.

As The Blast reported, the actor explained that when Cox was at the height of her iconic sitcom fame, he found himself comparing their careers, saying it was “kind of hard to put yourself there” when she was “at the top of the television iconic world.”

He also shared that traditional expectations, like being a provider and breadwinner, made the experience even more complicated for him, especially in an industry where popularity can fluctuate wildly.

According to David, navigating his own self-confidence and ego amid Cox’s success led to arguments and emotional challenges, and ultimately required personal growth to overcome.

He emphasized that building confidence and focusing on himself helped him deal with the pain and learning that came from being married to someone at the peak of fame.
