Angel Reese Delivers Statement Performance In Unrivaled Return And Fans Are Going Wild

Angel Reese delivered a scorching performance during her highly anticipated return to Miami!

The LSU alum marked her grand return to the Unrivaled Basketball league on Friday, February 20, after initially deciding to sit out the current season.

Angel Reese's season 2 debut also featured a subtle, special surprise that likely went unnoticed by many spectators.

Reese re-emerged on the Unrivaled court with Rose BC on Friday night, efficiently racking up 13 points and eight rebounds in just 10 minutes of play.

Reese, who plays for the Chicago Sky during the WNBA season, shot 6-for-9 from the field and went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Despite her efforts, the Rose BC lost 78-80.

Recaps of the game show both teams were tied with 78 points left in the final moments before the Hive's Kelsey Mitchell scored the game-winning layup.

Reese's return to Unrivaled comes after the celebrity decided to sit out the second season to pursue other business ventures.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Reese's return to Unrivaled was met with universal praise, as many referenced the Bayou Barbie's first season, which she ended by leading the league in rebounding and recording the league's first-ever 20-20 game.

Her relentless hustle on the floor earned her the league's inaugural Defensive Player of the Year title.

Chelsea Gray commented on what it was like playing with Reese, calling her a "double-double machine."

"She's somebody who has a knack for rebounding and just goes after it," Gray added. "It's really hard to do that consistently. It's a lot on your body. It's a mindset that you have to have, and it's one she's had this whole time."

Reese's return to Unrivaled got the fans talking!

The league's official Instagram account shared highlights of Reese’s performance, igniting a wave of excitement from fans thrilled by the official return of "Barbie hoops."

"Oh, you thought she was off vacationing and doin fashion shows??? Nahhhhh," someone wrote, alluding to her busy off-season that included strutting the runway for Victoria’s Secret and globetrotting.

"You can tell she been working," another user wrote. "THAT GIRL BEEN IN THE GYM," someone else posted.

"Barbies can play basketball, too," a netizen posted, to which another added, "I'm smiling through it all! Can't believe this is my life."

According to a previous report from The Blast, Reese celebrated her Unrivaled return in style, wearing a new edition of her signature shoe, the "Angel Reese 1" in the "Rose Dust" colorway.

In forthcoming matchups, Reese is set to unveil several additional colorways, including "Gala Green," "Unapologetically Angel," and "Navy Halo."

Each design carries a unique significance: the green hue symbolizes her personal growth, the vibrant eponymous pair honors her unprecedented achievements, and the navy is "grounded in power and poise."

While the "Rose Dust" colorway is available for purchase now, the remaining colorways will become available on Reebok's website over the next several weeks.

The AR1 SS26 collection comes months after Reese launched her first three colorways with Reebok, calling the design "my style, my story, and my stamp on the game."

A report from The Blast indicates that Reese cemented her status as a financial powerhouse in 2025, earning $9.4 million and becoming the highest-paid Black woman in professional basketball.

One shocking fact about the reported figure is that only $0.4 million of her earnings came from her work on the court. The bulk of her wealth was generated through lucrative partnerships with global brands, including Beats by Dre, Cash App, Victoria's Secret, and, of course, Reebok.

Before her rookie year in the WNBA, Reese spoke with a reporter and explained how excited she was to continue building her brand since graduating from college.

"The deals don't just stop in college," she said. "When you go to the pros, they continue, and I feel like they've grown even more. Now that I'm a pro, I can do so much more."
