Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Reveals She's Been Diagnosed With Cervical Cancer

On Friday, February 20, Polizzi disclosed that results from a recent cone biopsy confirmed she has "stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma."

"Obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God," the MTV star added.

Polizzi used the moment to urge her female followers to prioritize regular checkups and remain vigilant regarding their bodies.

"I’m 38 years old, and I’ve been struggling with abnormal pap smears for three or four years now, and now look at me," she said. "Instead of putting it off because I didn’t want to go, because I was hurt and scared, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there. But it’s stage 1, and it’s curable."

According to The Blast, Snooki previously opened up about undergoing an "uncomfortable" medical procedure after another abnormal pap smear.

Snooki explained that in that moment, her doctor found cancerous cells "on the top of my cervix."

During that initial update, Snooki appeared to express regret, scolding herself for repeatedly delaying her necessary screenings.

"The reason why my doctor’s on my a** all the time is because I waited," she said. "I waited on my damn appointments because I knew I might not get great results but also because I didn’t want to feel the pain. I didn’t want to deal with the stress of having to deal with all of this."

At the time, Snooki stated that she wanted to use her platform to help spread awareness about caring for one's body.

What's Next For Snooki After Learning Of Her Cancer Diagnosis?

So, what's next for Polizzi? In her most recent update, the "Family Vacation" reality star said that she will soon undergo a PET scan to determine whether the cancer has spread before determining the next step.

Polizzi revealed that after the PET scan, she'll likely "get a hysterectomy," a medical procedure that removes a woman's uterus, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

She explained that she reached that decision after weighing the options, which the oncologist told her included "chemo, radiation, or the hysterectomy."

"So 2026 is not panning out how I wanted it to," she said, "but also could be worse. Could be very much worse."
