Moroz Accepts One-Year Suspension After Positive Meldonium Test

In September 2025, Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) announced that the fighter, who trains out of Boca Raton, Florida, had accepted a one-year period of ineligibility after violating the UFC Anti-Doping Policy. According to officials, Moroz tested positive for meldonium, a substance prohibited at all times under the Hormones and Metabolic Modulators category, following out-of-competition samples collected on June 25 and July 16, 2025.

Because she had not yet been notified of the first adverse result when the second sample was taken, both findings were treated as a single violation under policy rules.

Maryna Moroz Cites Medical Treatment But Failed To Disclose Drug-Tested Status

Moroz provided medical documentation showing she had been prescribed the substance by a licensed physician to treat reported symptoms.

However, officials noted she did not inform her doctor that she was a drug-tested athlete, failed to verify the medication’s prohibited status through UFC resources, and did not apply for a therapeutic use exemption (TUE), which could have allowed legal use for medical reasons.

CSAD also considered evidence that Moroz used the medication for a limited time and did not have any fights scheduled during that period.

She participated in a detailed interview with investigators, and officials determined she met the organization’s “complete cooperation” clause, resulting in a reduced sanction.

Instead of the standard two-year penalty typically associated with meldonium cases, Moroz received a one-year suspension.
