Donald Trump is once again being mentioned in online discussions about Jeffrey Epstein, this time following the stunning arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The former prince was apprehended at his residence on the Sandringham Estate on Thursday morning, under suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The disgraced aristocrat had only recently relocated to Sandringham after King Charles stripped him of his royal duties and military affiliations.

As previously reported by The Blast, Andrew was said to be “horrified” over what he viewed as a humiliating downgrade.

For many Americans on social media, however, the arrest has triggered new questions about how the Trump administration has handled ongoing scrutiny surrounding the Epstein files.

The arrest of former Prince Andrew comes after years of controversy surrounding his association with Epstein.

The fallout from that period included a civil settlement with accuser Virginia Giuffre in 2022 as well as the loss of his titles and affiliations.

According to a BBC report, Andrew’s arrest relates to that Epstein connection, with police investigating claims he may have shared confidential material with the late financier.

To make matters worse for him, Andrew was taken into custody on his 66th birthday, a detail that did not go unnoticed online.

Writing on X, one commenter said, “What an anti-climax for Prince Andrew when a female copper turns up to his house with handcuffs on his birthday, only to bundle him into a Vauxhall Astra.”

Across the Atlantic, Andrew’s arrest has rekindled discourse about Trump’s past association with Epstein.

There is also a renewed debate over how his administration has handled the broader fallout from the Epstein files.

As the news of the arrest spread on social media, some users drew a contrast between how the two nations appear to be handling the case.

“If they can arrest Prince Andrew for public corruption for his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, then Donald Trump needs to be put on trial for his crimes too,” one observer on X said.

As critics raise more questions regarding his past ties with Epstein, Trump has rejected suggestions of wrongdoing and maintained that he is not concerned about renewed scrutiny.

Speaking to reporters, the 47th president recently said that he had already been cleared.

“I have nothing to hide. I've been exonerated,” Trump said. “I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.”

The former host of “The Apprentice” also claimed that prior investigations had demonstrated that Epstein was actually working to hamper his political ambitions.

“In fact, Jeffrey Epstein was fighting that I don't get elected with some author,” Trump added.

Donald Trump Previously Denied Knowing The Former Prince

During a state visit to the UK in 2019, Trump denied being personally acquainted with the then-Prince Andrew.

“I don't know Prince Andrew, but it's a tough story,” the New York mogul told journalists, as per ABC.

Following Andrew’s removal from royal duties, Trump also expressed compassion for the King’s family.

“It's a terrible thing that's happened to the family,” he said. “That's been a tragic situation, and it's too bad.”

In a statement released after his brother’s arrest, King Charles III pledged his full support to the legal process.

“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated by the appropriate authorities,” the statement read. “In this, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.”

In the weeks leading up to his arrest by Thames Valley Police, royal observers had raised some worries about Andrew’s state of mind.

Sources close to the family described him as increasingly isolated and struggling emotionally amid the ongoing scrutiny.

Not everyone shared that view, however.

Some other insiders dismissed the claims of emotional fragility, suggesting that the former Duke was known to seek sympathy when trying to dodge consequences.

“His ego is enormous. He's the boy who cried wolf,” one source said. “He knows how to use sympathy to slow the heat.”
