Connie Boss Alexander sought the court’s intervention after becoming concerned that her relationship with her grandchildren would deteriorate following her son’s death.

In September 2025, Connie filed a Petition for Grandparent Visitation against Allison Holker, alleging her relationship with the children had changed due to what she described as a “unilateral and retaliatory decision.” Per the Daily Mail, the filing states:

"Unfortunately, shortly following my son's passing, [Allison] refused to allow me or any other members of our family to communicate with or see the Minor Children. My hope is that this Court can grant me limited grandparent visitation in a way that neither infringes on [Allison's] autonomy or disrupts their life. I believe it in the best interests of the Children to continue to have a relationship with their father's family, especially now that he is no longer present in their lives."

Allison Holker strongly pushed back against the allegations, arguing that she had facilitated communication and visitation opportunities. According to court filings, she claimed she had "facilitated phone calls, FaceTime calls, and visits with [Connie] and the children." She also stated that she had "invited [Connie] to see the children, and Petitioner declined the invitation."

As seen in a text message sent by Allison Holker, she wrote to Connie:

"I have never hindered you from seeing the kids... Despite the continual public narrative to the contrary, the door has always been open to you anytime you want to visit ... I think it's also important to acknowledge that we've received no phone calls, FaceTimes, text messages, emails or any sort of invitation for the kids and me to see you in Arizona, which we are also happy to consider."

Connie replied to the text message, per the court document:

"As I've shared from the beginning, you and the children have always been welcome to visit in Arizona. That has never changed. It was disappointing to receive a letter from your attorney stating that you've moved on, and to learn of your relocation without any type of communication."

Holker later alleged that Connie only called the children once in 2025, prior to filing the petition, specifically on March 27, to wish Maddox a happy birthday.

Dispute Over Move To Utah Added Fuel To The Conflict

Another major point of contention centered on Allison Holker's relocation from California to Utah with the children. Connie claimed she learned about the move through social media and did not know whether it was temporary or permanent. She said:

"I was unaware that [Allison] had purchased a permanent residence in Utah until attempts to personally serve her were made in September 2025 after the filing of my Petition. At that time, I learned that Respondent purchased a custom-built home in Alpine, Utah for approximately $5.5 million dollars. Contrary to [Allison's] claims, public records reflect that the property was not acquired until July 3."

Ultimately, the California court dismissed the petition due to jurisdiction issues. In a February 11, 2026, minute order following a hearing, the court ruled, "The Court finds California lacks personal and subject matter jurisdiction over [Allison] and minor children, and orders the entire action dismissed."

It remains unclear whether Connie plans to refile the case in another state, such as Arizona, where she lives, or Utah, where Allison Holker and the children currently reside.
