What Caused Victoria Jones' Death?

Victoria Jones has been confirmed to have died from the "toxic effects of cocaine," more than a month after she was found unresponsive in a San Francisco hotel.
The 34-year-old was discovered on the 14th floor of the Fairmont Hotel in the early hours of New Year's Day. The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner officially ruled her death an accidental overdose.
She is survived by her father, Tommy, 79, her mother, and Tommy's ex-wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, and her brother, Austin Jones, 43.
Following her death, the family released a statement asking for privacy: "We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you."
A Fairmont spokesperson also expressed condolences, stating: "We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on Jan. 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time."
The Actress's Struggles In The Months Before Her Death

In 2023, two years before her death, Tommy had sought to protect his daughter through a temporary conservatorship.
Court records reviewed by the Daily Mail show that he filed the petition on August 7, 2023, in Marin County Probate Court.
The filings did not detail the specific circumstances behind the request, as supporting medical records and declarations remain confidential.
At the time, Victoria had reportedly been held at a Greenbrae hospital under a 14-day psychiatric hold, after authorities determined she could pose a risk to herself or others.
Tommy's petition asked for a conservator to oversee her transfer to a drug rehabilitation facility upon release, stating she required "services provided by a drug rehabilitation facility that are not available at a hospital" to work toward recovery and sobriety.
The judge approved the request, and Tommy later moved to dismiss the conservatorship, which was officially terminated on December 18, 2023.

In the months leading up to her death, Victoria's struggles became public. She faced multiple encounters with law enforcement, including arrests in 2025.
In April, Napa Valley authorities conducted a wellness check and charged her with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
Officials reported finding a plastic bag containing a white powder, believed to be cocaine, in her pocket. She pleaded not guilty and was scheduled for a court appearance later this month.
In June, 2025, Victoria was arrested again following a domestic incident at Napa's Carneros Resort and Spa. She also faced allegations of elder abuse, which she denied.
