Halsey announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend, Alev Aydin, on January 27, with a simple yet beautiful mini-photoshoot. She wore a crocheted rainbow bralette and baggy pants with her stomach on full display.
The rainbow is a nod to the baby she lost from a miscarriage about five years ago. A baby born after a pregnancy loss is commonly referred to as a rainbow baby.
The new mom has documented her pregnancy extensively, and her entire fourth studio album, “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” centers around pregnancy and childbirth.

Halsey explained, “This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months.”
She continued explaining, “My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being. This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”
Her fourth studio album will be released on August 27. She is also releasing an hour-long movie to go with her album.
Tickets for Halsey’s “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” IMAX movie experience go on sale August 3rd. The movie will play in select theaters in select locations across the world.
