Shia LaBeouf's Marriage On The Rocks As Sources Reveal Split From Wife Amid Actor's Arrest After Bar Brawl

Shia LaBeouf's marriage to wife, Mia Goth, is seemingly facing serious challenges, as sources claim they have been separated for a while now.

The news surfaced as the 39-year-old actor was arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras following an alleged bar altercation that led to two simple battery charges.

The incident adds to Shia LaBeouf's history of legal troubles and comes after years of a turbulent, on-and-off relationship with Mia Goth.

LaBeouf and Goth have ended their relationship again, with sources saying the split happened quietly nearly a year ago.

It's not yet known whether either of them has officially filed for divorce; however, an insider told Page Six that LaBeouf moved to New Orleans after the split to be closer to some of his relatives.

News of the breakup surfaced shortly after the 39-year-old actor was arrested early Tuesday morning in New Orleans following an alleged altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the incident began at a bar in the French Quarter, where LaBeouf was allegedly behaving aggressively.

Police say a staff member asked him to leave the premises, but once outside, he allegedly struck the employee with a closed fist.

Authorities claim LaBeouf left the scene but later returned and became even more confrontational. Officers say it took several people to restrain him.

After briefly being released, he allegedly went after the same staff member again, striking them in the upper body, and is also accused of punching another individual in the nose.

Witnesses reportedly held LaBeouf down until police arrived shortly after 12:45 a.m., and he was taken to a hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries before being arrested.

He has since been charged with two counts of simple battery and was held without bond at Orleans Parish Prison.

He was scheduled to appear before a judge later that day. Footage obtained by TMZ shows the actor receiving medical attention from paramedics after the incident.

According to insiders, LaBeouf moved to New Orleans after the breakup with Goth to be closer to family.

Although he was raised in California, he has previously spoken about his Louisiana roots, once mentioning that his father is Cajun.

The actor, who has been open in the past about his struggles with sobriety, had reportedly been in the city since last week for Mardi Gras festivities.

LaBeouf has faced legal troubles in the past. In 2014, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct following an incident at a Broadway performance.

In 2017, he was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, on charges including public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and obstruction; the intoxication charge was later dropped, but he pleaded guilty to the remaining offenses.

In 2020, he was charged with misdemeanor petty theft and battery after an alleged altercation in Los Angeles.

That same year, LaBeouf was sued by his former girlfriend, FKA Twigs, who accused him of repeated physical, emotional, and mental abuse during their relationship. He denied the allegations. The lawsuit was later settled.

LaBeouf and Goth, 32, have had a long and often turbulent relationship dating back to 2012, when they met on the set of "Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, "which marked Goth's feature film debut.

The couple tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2016,  a wedding that TMZ notably livestreamed.

Over the years, their romance frequently made headlines, including a widely publicized argument in Germany in 2015 and joint appearances such as the London premiere of LaBeouf's film "Fury."

In 2018, representatives confirmed that the pair had filed for divorce, describing the separation as amicable and private.

However, reconciliation rumors began circulating in 2020 when they were photographed wearing wedding rings while biking together in Los Angeles.

Although neither Goth nor LaBeouf publicly confirmed they were back together after divorce reports, they later welcomed a child in 2022, seemingly hinting at their reconciliation.

That same year, LaBeouf spoke candidly about Goth during an interview with Jon Bernthal, expressing deep gratitude for her support during a difficult time in his life.

"[Goth] saved my f–king life," he said. "She was present for me at a time when I didn't deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her."

LaBeouf added at the time, "She gave me hope when I was really running on fumes."
