According to court records obtained by TMZ, Scott is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage, both misdemeanors.
Sources with direct knowledge told the outlet the incident unfolded around 8 p.m. Monday when Scott allegedly left her home with her son, Parker, and three of his friends to go shopping. Authorities claim she struck a parked car on her street but did not stop. Instead of stopping after the initial collision, sources say Scott continued driving and attempted to pull into her driveway.

Scott has long remained connected to Eminem in the public eye due to their highly publicized relationship. The two were married in 1999 and divorced in 2001 before briefly remarrying for a few months in 2006. They share a daughter, Hailie Jade.
Eminem famously referenced his ex in multiple songs throughout his career, most notably the 2000 track “Kim” from "The Marshall Mathers LP," which portrayed a violent and dark depiction of their volatile relationship.
"There was a lot of sadness about why this didn't work out. They've been together for 17 years," Scott's attorney Michael J. Smith told PEOPLE at the time. "They're life-long friends, lovers, have been husband and wife, they're raising children together ... It's not the end and it's not over between them."
Smith continued, "Kim is doing great. She is a very articulate, very smart woman. She is going back to college to study design. She just wants to be a mom and go back to college. That's what she wants to do right now."

The latest incident also comes against the backdrop of Scott’s past personal struggles, which she has previously spoken about publicly. Following her second divorce from Eminem, she largely stepped away from the spotlight but faced ongoing battles with depression and substance abuse.
On October 7, 2015, she intentionally drove her Cadillac Escalade into a utility pole after consuming prescription pills and a fifth of Malibu rum. "I sat at the end of a road where I knew that no one else but myself would get hurt," she later revealed while speaking on 95.5 WKQI's "Mojo in the Morning." "Yes, I drank, I took pills and I hit the gas and aimed for a pole. I never expected to make it out of that alive. I apologized immensely. I did not even expect to make it through that, and I told [police] that I tried to do this on purpose."
The crash resulted in a concussion, broken toes and a broken wrist. Scott was booked on a DUI charge, for which she was ordered to attend drug and alcohol counseling, undergo a year-long probation and pay a $900 fine, according to The Detroit News.
