Wendy, alongside grieving family and friends, paid their respects to Thomas on Monday, February 16, at a memorial held near Miami, Florida. She arrived at the funeral with her niece, Alex Finnie, and the latter's boyfriend, Eric Houston.
As seen in pictures shared by TMZ, Wendy looked somber, clearly distraught by the loss of her beloved father. She donned an all-black ensemble for the event, wearing a mini black dress with black ankle boots and large black sunglasses.
Wendy accessorized with a black bag and donned multiple gold and silver bangles on one wrist. She also wore two silver necklaces, with one holding a letter "W" pendant, while the other held a cross. One picture showed her seemingly fighting back tears, but Wendy has yet to publicly address her father's death.

Since Wendy stayed silent about her father's passing, news of Thomas's death came via her niece, Finnie. The Blast covered the story, reporting that Finnie had announced the patriarch's demise in an emotional Instagram post on February 8.
Finnie shared a video montage of pictures depicting her memories with Thomas over the years. She accompanied the clip with a touching caption, where she raved about her beloved grandfather, who died at the age of 94.
"After 94 years of extraordinary love, strength, brilliance, and wisdom, my grandfather Thomas D. Williams has passed," Finnie wrote. She believed he was in heaven with her Nana, Wendy's mom, and would continue to watch over and guide the Williams family.
More About The Former Broadcaster's Late Father's

Thomas and Wendy's mother, Shirley Williams, were reportedly married for sixty-three years before she died in 2020. They were both educators, with three master's degrees between them, and expected the same for their children.
Thomas and Shirley welcomed three children, daughters Wanda and Wendy, and a son named Thomas Williams Jr. Wendy once claimed that her parents had higher expectations of her older sister than they did of her.
Nonetheless, Thomas and Shirley wanted their children to have a sound education as they did. On that note, Wendy earned a degree from Northeastern University to appease them before pursuing a media career, which earned her numerous achievements.
The Media Personality Partied The Night Away Last December

Wendy still had plenty of reasons to smile in 2025, particularly in December when she marked her niece's birthday. The Blast reported that she and Finnie were photographed leaving Brooklyn Chop House in downtown Manhattan just before midnight.
The former talk show host appeared to be in high spirits, smiling at the paparazzi as they exited the hot spot. A day later, Wendy and Finnie continued the birthday celebrations at the Italian restaurant Fresco by Scotto in midtown Manhattan.
Finnie shared a clip of the outing on Instagram, capturing her seated beside Wendy at the dinner table. The proud aunt was all smiles as her niece received a birthday tribute from the restaurant's staff. Fans couldn't help but gush about Wendy's radiant appearance in the comments.
Wendy Williams Is Embroiled In A Guardianship Battle

Wendy's birthday outing with Finnie marked one of the many moments she secured time to spend with loved ones amid her guardianship battle. The Blast reported in October 2025 that Wendy had raised more concerns about her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.
According to the entertainer, she was being kept in the dark about her finances and wouldn't have known something was wrong if not for a New York Magazine article. The report covered her ongoing fight for freedom and revealed the alleged state of Wendy's finances.
Wendy suspected Morrissey was exploiting her wealth, noting that she believed she was paying $18,000 monthly rent for her apartment in the Coterie.
However, the article reported that she was paying $25,000 for rent. Additionally, Wendy claimed Morrissey was giving her a meager weekly allowance of $200-$300.
