LaBeouf's recent arrest comes nearly two years after he almost got into trouble with the law. The Blast covered the story in September 2024, reporting that the actor got into a heated altercation with pub-goers outside the OX184 bar in Edinburgh.

The incident, caught on camera, showed LaBeouf losing his patience and ready to trade blows with the other party. He could be heard yelling, "Let's go," at a group of men, but the situation did not escalate to physical violence thanks to bystanders.

People quickly rushed in to separate LaBeouf from the group, de-escalating the tense situation. The night before the confrontation, LaBeouf had been spotted drinking at the Whistlebinkies pub, yards away from where the altercation occurred.

As stated, LaBeouf is no stranger to legal troubles, as he was once involved in a five-year battle with FKA Twigs. The Blast reported that the singer had sued the actor in December 2020 for assault, sexual battery, and emotional distress after a year of dating.

Twigs claimed there were incidents where she was allegedly strangled and psychologically manipulated by LaBeouf. The legal battle was settled outside of court in 2025, with the former couple reaching an undisclosed settlement.

When asked if she felt safer after settling her lawsuit with LaBeouf, Twigs noted in a 2025 interview that she couldn't say she felt safe. However, she refused to be tied down by the past and was focused on helping other abuse survivors by supporting organizations like Sistah Space and No More.
