Where in the world is Zac Efron?
We may not know, but it has to be somewhere with WiFi, because the actor just reacted to his daytime Emmy’s win!
Efron has come a LONG way since “High School Musical.” He’s taken on fun, quirky roles, dark and evil roles, and roles that help shed light on the environmental crisis currently facing the globe.
If you haven’t tuned into “Down To Earth With Zac Efron” on Netflix, do yourself a favor and pop it on… now!
‘Down To Earth’ follows Efron and his friend/wellness expert, Darin Olien, around the globe to “find some new perspectives on some very old problems.”
Efron scored a Daytime Emmy Award for his program on Sunday, July 18.
He took to Instagram to celebrate the big ‘W’ and had this message for his fans.

“Wow! Never expected this and so grateful,” he wrote. “A HUGE thank you to #daytimeemmys @netflix and our small but powerful crew @zacdowntoearth who made this show what it is. And most of all, thank all of you for watching and enjoying D2E. This is for you.”
An excited Efron ended his caption with, “Get ready for the next adventure it’s going to be a good one. Love u guys ❤️🙏🏼.”
Efron is currently filming season 2 of ‘Down To Earth’ and it appears he’ll be spending a majority of his time in the land down under.
Back in March, Deadline reported production on S2 of the show had begun and it will take place in Australia. The second season is expected to hit the streaming platform sometime in 2022.

Deadline reports, “In this new season, actor Zac Efron travels around Australia with wellness expert Darin Olien in search of healthy, sustainable ways to live. The hosts bring viewers to beautiful locales where they seek out sustainable practices in a way that is both educational and enlightening, embracing local food, culture and customs throughout their journey.”
While the show was an instant hit, Efron and co. got some backlash from an Australian filmmaker who claims the actor STOLE the idea from him.
In April of this year, Aussie TV Host Ben Waddell claimed Efron and Netflix stole his idea for ‘D2E.’
Ben took to Instagram and claimed that the show was his idea and he had already filmed a pilot and even the trailer was similar to Zac’s version.
Ben issued a legal notice in April and demanded a response to his allegations within seven days. Neither Netflix nor Efron responded.

According to The Daily Mail, Ben never pitched his idea directly to Netflix or the production company Zac is working with, but he claims he submitted it widely in the US.
After Ben’s version of the show did not get picked up in the US, he claims that he began plans to shoot in Australia but had to shut down discussions with Channel 10 after Zac’s version of the show went up on Netflix.
Nothing new has surfaced from Ben’s team or Efron’s team.
