More and more males are embracing the use of nail polish as a product they too can rock. No one ever said nail art is for women and girls only… well except the ignorant maybe. Kid Cudi is one of the men who appreciate a good coat of fresh polish. The rapper was excited to show off his fresh manicure over the weekend. He posted a photo of himself wearing a helmet and flashing his hand to show off his orange and blue manicure. The photo was captioned “Mando Cud” clearly, the musician was impressed with his new colors but in came the haters.

Haters Gon’ Hate
Alleged fans criticized the 37-year-old for his choice to slap a little polish on his nails. Some went even as far as to accuse the rapper of being interested in same sex relationships. Well, fortunately, Cudi is living on a higher plane and will protect his mental health at all costs. “Turned my comments off on Instagram,” wrote the rapper after jumping ship to Twitter where the water’s calmer. “Seems people really have a problem w me painting my nails. I got tired of blockin so many accounts,: he continued.

Me First Energy
The “Heart Of A Lion” rapper really wanted to enforce that he is not obligated to do things for our likes. “I really need u to understand, if u dont like me doin this or anything I do, please dont buy my albums, dont come to my shows. Fuck way off,” he concluded his post. Cudi has often talked about protecting his mental health and regularly takes breaks from music and social media to protect it no matter what. Thankfully, his fans mostly act like a protective barrier for the rapper since he had the courage to be so open and honest about the state of his mental health.
Protect Scott Mescudi
“I love you” wrote a friend of the rapper which sparked a large number of fans to show love as well, even ones who aren’t down with the males wearing nail polish trend. “I mean i dont agree w it but as a long time Cudi fan you'd kno that self expression is his motto,” they wrote. One fan showed off his own set and shared that he began his own journey of self expression this year and getting his nails done is one of his new “favorite things”. More fans showed support and some even asked for advice on what colors he would recommend for someone who normally sticks to black.
Self Expression Over Everything
The rapper also recently made another huge statement when he performed on Saturday Night Live wearing a dress. Of course, the reviews were mixed with some being confused as hell and questioning the rapper’s sexuality or praising the father of one for having the courage to wear a whole ass dress on stage for more reasons then the fact that he is a man wearing a dress. The day after his SNL performance the rapper explained that he was paying tribute to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The dress was made by Off-White founder and Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh, “I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt w a floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece.”
