Stephen Curry may be expanding his resume in Hollywood, but don’t expect him to hang up his jersey anytime soon. The Golden State Warriors superstar is continuing to dominate both basketball and entertainment, lending his voice to a character in the new animated film "GOAT" while also building an impressive portfolio behind the scenes as a producer and director. Despite his growing presence off the court, Stephen Curry is making it clear that retirement isn’t on his mind... at least not yet.

Instead, the four-time NBA champion says he’s focused on enjoying the present moment, embracing longevity in the league, and sharing his journey with his family as his career continues to evolve. “It’ll declare itself, whenever the time comes to call it quits, which I don’t think is anytime soon,” Curry, who has spent all 17 seasons of his career with the Golden State Warriors, said. “I’m not really putting too much pressure on that.”
Instead, the point guard said he’s staying grounded in the present. “Thinking about the end robs you of the now,” Curry explained. “I’m enjoying the journey of competing and all the work that goes into it. Hopefully that carries me a long way.”

As one of the NBA’s most accomplished players, Curry says he takes pride in continuing to perform at an elite level later in his career. “It is a badge of honor to now be the oldest player doing all of these great things,” the four-time NBA champion, two-time MVP, and Olympic gold medalist says. “To redefine what greatness looks like at this age.”
He added that those milestones feel even more meaningful because of the work required to maintain them. “Every time you do something cool, it’s like, ‘Oh, you’re the oldest to do such and such’ or ‘You’re the oldest point guard to fill in the blank,' " Curry said. “So I wear all of those things like a badge of honor, because I know how much work goes into it, to play this game that I love.”

Beyond the court, Curry says one of the most rewarding aspects of his career is sharing it with his family, wife Ayesha Curry, and their four children, Riley, 13, Ryan, 10, Canon, 7, and 21-month-old Caius. “It used to be that whenever I was in a jersey, they would call me Stephen, and when I wasn’t in a jersey, I was daddy,” Curry said with a laugh.
Now, he says his children are more involved and curious about his career. “They ask a lot more questions. They know your schedule: ‘How many games is it?’ or ‘Who are you playing?' " Curry said. “I love being able to share that part of my life with them.”

Curry’s voice role in "GOAT" marks another milestone in his growing entertainment career, which already includes major recognition behind the camera. He previously earned an Oscar as an executive producer of "The Queen of Basketball" in 2022 and won the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at Sundance this year for co-directing and producing "The Baddest Speechwriter of All," demonstrating that his ambitions extend well beyond basketball.
Still, Curry’s expanding creative portfolio doesn’t mean he’s stepping away from the sport that made him a household name.

If anything, Curry is looking ahead to more competition, including a potential return to the NBA’s iconic 3-point contest.
"One hundred percent," he said during Sunday's NBA Showtime when asked if he would compete in the contest next season. "I already scheduled it. We're gonna bring some people. Me, Dame [Damian Lillard], I'm gonna try to get Klay [Thompson], Dev [Devin Booker]."
Damian Lillard won the 2026 NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest.
