Country music’s latest feud is playing out online, and it all started with an alternative halftime show. After Turning Point USA streamed its own Super Bowl counter-programming event featuring Brantley Gilbert, who sang Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem," Zach Bryan didn’t hold back. What followed was a parody song, chili dog jokes, and political jabs. Now, Jason Aldean has offered a response of his own, and it was short, sharp, and sarcastic.
Zach Bryan Takes Aim At TPUSA’s Super Bowl Counter-Show

The drama began after Turning Point USA streamed its own halftime show on February 8, featuring performances from Brantley Gilbert, Kid Rock, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.
Bryan took issue with the event, particularly as it aired opposite Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show. “What Kid Rock actually thinks is happening across America,” Bryan wrote on his Instagram Stories. The video featured Bryan’s friend watching the TPUSA show on a cell phone, while pretending not to watch the Bad Bunny-led performance playing on the television in the background.
Zach Bryan later doubled down after receiving backlash from fans.
Zach Bryan Claps Back After Being Called A ‘Hollywood Sell Out’

Zach Bryan shared a message he received from a follower that read, “wtf happens to you? Boy you turned into a Hollywood sell out b-tch real quick. You were my favorite artist. Now you are nothing but another dumba-s out of touch elitist. Sh-t happens real quick homie.”
Bryan responded bluntly with, “I don’t care what side you’re on, a bunch of adults throwing temper tantrums and their own halftime show is embarrassing as hell and the most cringe sh-t on the planet.”

Zach Bryan didn’t stop there. The “Something in the Orange” singer posted a video of himself and Harley Carmichael singing a parody of Gilbert’s rendition, which Aldean famously released on his 2010 album "My Kinda Party."
The parody swapped in new lyrics, “Chili on a hot dog, talkin’ ’bout chili on a hot dog.”
Gilbert appeared to laugh off the jab, responding with a video of himself eating a chili dog. “@zachlanebryan, you can climb all the fences you want, you’re not getting my chili dog,” Gilbert wrote in his caption, referencing a video of Bryan climbing a fence in an argument with fellow country singer Gavin Adcock.
While Gilbert opted for humor, Jason Aldean chimed in with a comment that quickly caught attention. “Best song I’ve heard from that guy,” Aldean quipped in the comments, referring to Zach Bryan's parody. Several fans replied to Aldean's comment, praising him for his unapologetic move, while country music singer Brett Young added laughing emojis.
Fans Rally Behind Brantley Gilbert

As the back-and-forth continued, plenty of fans jumped into the comment section to weigh in on Brantley Gilbert’s lighthearted chili dog response, and many appeared to side with him. Some praised Gilbert for not escalating the situation. “I love how he can make fun of it! But if the shoe were on the other foot… ZB would play victim!” Others were even more direct. “Love this from you, BG. Bryan's a child.”
The debate quickly turned into broader commentary about Zach Bryan himself. One commenter wrote, “This just makes me not a Zach Bryan fan anymore. When will artists just shut up? Stand for the [American Flag emoji] or get out. BG, you did a heck of a performance the other night!”
Another added, “Genuinely annoys me how childish Zach is cause I like his music so much.”
Kid Rock Reacts To Bad Bunny’s Record-Setting Halftime Show

The feud unfolded as Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show dominated headlines and viewership. Kid Rock, who also performed at the TPUSA event, offered his take on the Puerto Rican rapper’s performance during an appearance on Fox News’ "The Ingraham File." “I didn’t understand any of it. I saw there’s a lot of dancers and a lot of big to-do stuff and, you know, he said he wanted to have a dance party. It looked like he had one.”
“Not my cup of tea, but I don’t fault that kid for doing the Super Bowl, getting in front of a global audience," he continued. "I fault the NFL for putting him in that position and Turning Point for having to come out and having an alternative for people to watch. You know, it’s just … poor kid.”
Despite criticism from some corners, Bad Bunny’s halftime show averaged 128.2 million viewers, the fourth-most-watched halftime show in history.
