The Dude Perfect crew are no strangers to adventure. The trick shot stars known for their viral challenges, high-energy stunts, and sometimes insane moments that make you gasp, have recently teamed up for a fun and wildly delicious partnership.
Two of Dude Perfect’s co-founders - Cody Jones and Garrett Hilbert - sat down with The Blast for an exclusive chat about the new partnership, what goes into creating their viral stunts, what's next, and more.
Dude Perfect Brings Adventure To Social-First Flavor Swap Campaign

The Dude Perfect crew, the Guinness World Record-holding trick shot stars known for their viral videos, are bringing their signature bold energy to a new social-first campaign for Flavor Swap. Built around unexpected twists and turns, reimagining chip flavors on entirely different chip styles is something the guys can relate to, making this a perfect partnership for the crew.
Leading the charge is their favorite pick - Doritos Cool Ranch flavor on a Ruffles chip - a tangy mashup designed to mirror the group’s adventurous spirit and boundary-pushing stunts. The campaign launches with fan-focused drops across Instagram and TikTok.
“We started with trick shots and always trying to come up with that the next big shot, something that the fans weren’t ever even thinking of, and so I think we wanted to do something bold, we wanted to do something unexpected,” Hilbert told The Blast exclusively. “Cool Ranch is an iconic chip for Doritos that I don’t think people would ever expect to ever touch or change Cool Ranch. So when we were approached with the idea, we thought it just fits our brand so well."
Don't forget to check out the Frito-Lay Shop on TikTok with Flavor Swap products available starting today and rolling out nationwide in March.
If Dude Perfect's Favorite Flavor Swap Was A Stunt, What Would It Be?

When asked to set up a trick shot that matches their favorite Flavor Swap, Hilbert shared his vision.
"This should be big. I would compare this to our World Record in Vegas where I think going into it, you're like, 'Are we gonna make this shot?' I don't know," he said. "I think it was kind of unexpected, but we didn't really know how it was gonna turn out, but we did nail it on the first try. So that's how I would compare it to the world of trick shots. It was unexpected going into it and was a bold strategy, but it worked."
Hilbert also shared that he calls himself a "chip connoisseur" and could almost live on carbs and chips alone. He explained why the Flavor Swap of Cool Ranch on a Ruffles chip hit home for him.
"I just love Cool Ranch personally. I think it's just one of my favorite chips in general and I do love a good Ruffles, just regular, too, when you're eating a burger," Hilbert said. "Come on both! I didn't think the texture would make that big of a difference but it really does. And I actually think Cool Ranch is supposed to be on a Ruffles."
On Video Creativity And Planning The Perfect Stunt

Dude Perfect, founded in early 2009 by "five dudes, a camera, and a friendly bet," has "grown into a global phenomenon reaching millions of fans worldwide," according to their website.
When asked how they go about their challenges, they shared a little insight into the process.
"It's kind of as mundane as all of us getting in a conference room on Monday morning and literally have a whiteboard and we're just throwing out ideas," Hilbert said. "Tyler is our creative genius. He just always says if it works in my mind, I think it's going to work and so he plays it through his YouTube mind and he hasn't really led us astray yet."
They said that in the first 16 years, it was just the five of them, but they expanded their team in the past year so they have some "outside help."
From that first meeting of the minds on Monday morning to actually filming the stunt or challenge may not be how you imagine. For the longest time, they would get to work on Monday's idea on Tuesday.
"We're trying to get a little ahead of schedule now so we're working on videos that are months away," Hilbert said. "But for the first 15 years, it was like come up with a video on Monday and we're doing it Tuesday or Wednesday."
How Often Do They Nail It On The First Try?

When asked how often they actually nail a challenge on the first try, Jones shared out of about 1,000 different trick shots, they probably made four on the first try.
"One of them being, I put a blindfold on, got spun around and threw a basketball full court and they all started celebrating," he said. "I thought it was a joke because I thought I threw it at the seats. I took my blindfold off and they said I make it first try. I didn't believe them until they showed me the clip and sure enough, it had swished. It's the craziest shot of my life."
When asked if they've ever started a challenge and immediately regretted it, Jones quickly said, "yeah, yeah, yeah."
"I did a wing walking, where you go up in a plane that's perfectly sound, unbuckled my seatbelt and got on the wing. As I was crawling out, I go, 'What have I done?'" he said. "That was instant regret. And they banned it in the U.S. so it's illegal now."

Dude Perfect chatted with The Blast a few days prior to the start of NBA All-Star Weekend. Jones revealed that he was headed to LA with the crew to play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
"My goal is to get a double-double," he said with a laugh. "I'm excited. It's gonna happen."
The guys are also getting ready to kick off their "Squad Games" tour beginning in June.
"This is our sixth year to go on tour. We're changing it up this year from the format we've done the first five years," Hilbert said. "This year is all about competition. So it's going to be the five of us versus another squad, and just do all different varieties of sports, so it's going to be fun."
And don't forget, the guys also have their "Almost Athletes" podcast, an hour-and-a-half of nonstop fun with a new episode every Wednesday. They talk about sports, entertainment, and give their "hot opinions."
