Sabrina Carpenter is once again gaining attention online, and this time, it’s thanks to a fan account resurfacing a bold lingerie look that has social media up in arms. The image, shared by a fan page, shows the pop star posing in pale yellow lace lingerie, complete with matching thigh-high stockings. Standing in front of mirrored panels, Carpenter’s voluminous blonde hair flows over her shoulders as she gazes downward, one hand resting lightly at her waist while holding a hairbrush in the other. But while many fans flooded the comments with praise, not all reactions were glowing.

“So cute!!!” one person wrote. “Very beautiful and sexy,” another commented. Others dropped heart emojis and compliments, applauding the singer’s styling.
However, one user took a more critical tone, writing, “More makeup on than clothes and still unattractive,” sparking debate beneath the post.
Of course, online chatter is nothing new for Carpenter.

The singer recently found herself at the center of backlash after unveiling the cover art for her recent album, "Man’s Best Friend." The image, which features Carpenter on her hands and knees in black heels and a fitted black mini dress, with a mystery man in a suit gripping a lock of her hair, quickly sparked debate across social media, with some critics calling it “too sexual.”
One user reposted the cover on X on June 11 and questioned, “Does she have a personality outside of sex?” Carpenter didn’t stay silent.
She fired back with a cheeky reply that quickly went viral: “Girl, yes, and it is goooooood.”

Carpenter later explained that the "Man’s Best Friend" cover was meant to be satirical and layered, saying it plays with themes of power, perception, and how women in pop are often viewed.
"It was about how people try to control women and how I felt emotionally yanked around by these relationships that I had and how much power you're allowing yourself to give them," she told Variety. "... It meant one thing to me and 100 things to other people. ... I saw it and was like 'That is a great point. It wasn't the point I was trying to make.'"
Carpenter Fires Back At Critics Who Say She ‘Leans Too Heavily Into Sexuality’

And the album cover drama isn’t the only time Carpenter has addressed critics who claim she leans too heavily into sexuality. The former Disney Channel star recently pushed back on that narrative in an interview with Rolling Stone, published last summer, pointing out that critics are often the ones amplifying the very image they say they take issue with.
“It’s always so funny to me when people complain,” Carpenter said. “They’re like, ‘All she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it.”
Sabrina Carpenter Says Viral ‘Juno’ Tour Moments Prove Critics Can’t Look Away

The 26-year-old then pointed to viral clips from her "Short n’ Sweet Tour" as proof. During performances of her track “Juno,” Carpenter famously strikes a different suggestive pose at each show after singing the lyric, “Have you ever tried this one?”
“It’s in my show,” she continued. “There’s so many more moments than the ‘Juno’ positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. I can’t control that.”
In other words, if critics can’t stop sharing it, they might just be part of the reason it keeps trending.
